ive been too a police auction before and got 6 technics 1210s , 4 technics 1200s , 5 mixers and around 500 12" records old skool ,drum n bass , techno ect ect .
I paid £700 . sold the decks in a ad paper (LOOT) and all the records part from the old skool to hard to find records and made just over 3k also kept the 1200s and a mixer for me .

if it was like what harry gypsna said though... i would definitely buy it. then i would run up a large electricity bill all while keeping all the equipment i bought in the garage somewhere. then when they kick in my door looking for an illegal grow and only finding a server farm i will sue the shit out of the city. when i win i will dedicate my whole house to growing. they wouldn't come after me twice. plus even if they did and they busted me i wouldn't care when i get out i will have millions of city dollars waiting on me.

Place I bought from isn't a police auction, but they buy huge lots of equipment from the cops and auction it off. Paperwork you receive states they have no law enforcement affiliation.
I'm in a med state, legal and have all my paperwork, so "f" 'em. In this economy, I need to save every penny I can. Bought a 60 liter dehuey for $20 and it still has the evidence sticker on it.

They put up for auction anything they seize, and they often break shit (purposefully) when they seize it.
I don't know who would buy it. Scrappers, maybe. Idiots, maybe.
Most drug cops I've seen in action can barely tell their ass from their face, much less some equipment that works from some that doesn't. It all goes up for auction as far as I'm aware.

Fuck cops and theirt likely worn out abused stolen auction stuff...I would rather support the grow shops than the cops. Cops have all the money they need and grow shops don't. Besides, cops are allowed legally to lie so why would a person believe anything they say? And giving them your name and address to save a few dollars on worn out shit that is ready to crater and burn down the house is not very smart. That grow stuff might be tenth party by the time they catch it. Likely at least has a few grows on it.Who knows if if has been surged or shorted down at some time or run with no ground. Sometimes "saving" is not worth the hassle...and the word "Sale" may not mean shit...tricks get "Sold"
