how fucking stupid is that question?

Yes? My questions is stupid?

Unions are bankrupting this country while idiots not unlike yourself think my question is stupid.

If you had a lick of sense, you would think twice before posting your stupidity for all to read.

you know what? i will delete my original post...gotta meeting...back in a few
---okay im back...i looked at some of your other posts, and maybe your not just the fucking asshole posting random garbage that i thought you were...but still, it seems i need to explain this to you slooooowly so you dont think im, what was it? oh, so my 'stupidity' doesnt show...your question was stupid because:
A) you were just being an asshole...you asked a question that you didnt care for an answer, you just wanted to be a dick. and...
B) there is nothing 'stupid' about his comment...a poster noted his negative experience w some union workers. a second poster noted his experience and stated what he liked about his union, if there is deadwood on site he can replace them w other union personel. now, you still w me here? following along ok?...grammatically, his post was correct...so its ok so far....the point he was making was a personal one, so cant really be incorrect, and yes, this is how many unions work. now, since your post contained nothing of value, no point was made, nothing he said was refuted by you, again, the only point of your post was to be an asshole, so....i decided to point it out.
Now, if you would like to point out where im 'posting my stupidity for all to read' go for it...if you wanna just be a prick, you would probably be better served leaving messages on my visitor page so as to not clutter up a thread.
so, in closing, can you post a single, solitary reason your question was not stupid?...you know what? technically i believe no question is stupid....so let me backtrack and just point out your being a dick.
Any other questions?

if you have never worked for a union then i could understand why you say fuck. people now a days are falling into the same kind of stigmatism as the refer madness movie inflicted back in the day. all people know is the unions and the mob did lots of dirty shit so everyone is anti union.
try puttin a different look on the idea of a union from my stand point not just in this case but any other as well. when you hear think about unions and there places of employment what do you think of?
thats right some kind of multibillion or well at least multimillion company. this company is making so much money they can afford to wipe their ass with tens and twenties. everything a union stands for is the same thing most people in this country bitch about not making enough money and not having a say so in what happens. in a union you are doing nothing to be looked down upon about maybe envied to say the least! in a union you are basically a sub contractor. you negotiate your contract to decide your wages for a set number of years taking into consideration inflation and costs of living increases. you get to also negotiate your pension, your health care, your holidays, your vacation, your sick time, your personal time, your i wanna do what the fuck ever time. as being a part of a union your employer must follow a pre negotiated displinary system. basically the rules and wages and retirement of your job are something that you get to negotiate and not leave up to your employers to just feel nice and give to you and fire you when they want or dog you out or make you go on shit detail. in a union seniority rules, the more years you dedicate to your employer the less bullshit jobs you have to do and the jobs you would rather do your able to takeover.
people always say shit about paying stewards and unions. stewards are on your job to make sure the company follows the pre negotiated set of rules and acts like every workers on that job attorney. contracts are legal binding documents, workers sign contracts with their employer through labor unions. not trying to be little any one here but legal shit should be left up to attorneys lmao. as for paying into unions before you knock em look at what the unions offer members. most unions have some sort of scholarship program, retirement, various discounts on all types of shit like cars, houses, and even real estate.
to sum it all up the employer is making plenty of money why shouldn't the employees get what is deserved to them of the jump instead of working your life away for a company you hope will take care of you?
now as for the pot oriented chapter of teamsters i say hell yeah. these large ass grows are gonna be making tons of money so the people who do the work deserve to be able to negotiate their employment and not leave it up to the greedy bastards who actually pulled this shit off in the first place.
In a union you are not a subcontractor. You get paid the exact same and get the same benefits as the worst worker there with the same length of service. You don't get to negotiate your contract, the union does. You only get to vote yes or no on that contract, and the union suggests which way you should vote. The union takes NO RISK. If the company loses money you still get paid, you get the negotiated raise even if there is no inflation (2008). And every union member I ever met, including family, does not see COLA as a raise. In the real world if your pay goes from 10/hr to 10.50/hr you got a raise, in the union it is only considered a raise if it is above the COLA. As for being greedy bastards, I don't see you going out on your own and risking everything you worked your entire life for to start a business and work 18 hour days for years to build it to the point where a union thinks that they are ENTITLED to the profits without any of the risk...NOW THAT IS GREED!!!

Off topic guys. If this turns into a pro-con union thread they will close it.

It is interesting how the unions are embracing cannabis. We still have the companies to fight about cannabis freedom and jobs.

In fact we might have full Legalization and still face corporations who demand to have access to our bodies for testing as a right they do not want to give up.

I am all for keeping my body private from corporations as a rule.

I know these economic time have folks struggling but it seems to be the plan. One man I watched on the News, a respected Dr of economics I believe, points out that all this deficit spending we are doing is the run up to the devaluation of the Dollar in 2020.

Yet the Cannabis being accepted by the Food Workers union and now the Teamsters is an important step in allowing folks to keep jobs who like to Puff a bit in their off time.
Personally I like to puff in my off time. I also need a job.
From what I can tell we can have all the "Legal" freedom on the books we want but until tokers have Economic rights it's like a Black man with the right to vote in the time of Jim Crow laws showing up to vote only to be told if he did his family will suffer.

So if the Teamsters are on board that is good.

I wish there was no need for unions but as we have seen with corporate greed and our recent economic collapse Capitalism ruins the world if left unchecked.

So Unions are needed. Government regulation is needed and Economic protections for Tokers are needed.

I understand what you are saying. What I'm saying is that if someone thinks one worker is more qualified then another just because he pays dues to a union, then he, IMO, is the stupid one in this scenario.

Aside from the fact that unions are bankrupting the country (there is not enough wealth in our nation to pay all the union's un-funded liabilities). The sooner the ignorant among us understand this FACT, the greater chance we will have to save our country and prevent it from fading into a second rate has been country.

I have little tolerance for stupidity. Pfhht. The stupidity of this thinking.... "this welder is better then this other welder just because he pays union dues", is bullshit.

This crap not only artificially inflates costs to everyone in the country, but the dues collected by the corrupt union officials are used to elect other politicians who will continue to suck the ass of the unions...... which in turn will move us more rapidly towards 3rd world status.

People need to start telling the truth. Here and everywhere else.

and to bring our little piss fest full circle back to topic at hand::)
....i understand what you are saying about unions and how it has become a burden and far surpasses the goals set by the original union movement in this country...but....
---one could say, fiscally speaking, there is no way for our government to claw its way out of the hole it is in right now...a hole that was dug by unions(no pun intended) and many other organizations, social programs, war profiteers, wall street etc etc etc...therefore, the existence of unions at this point in the game matter not...maybe they WILL be the final straw(though i imagine that honor will be bestowed upon a combination of social security and v.a. disability) thats breaks our back, but i contend our system will not, indeed cannot, be fixed till it literally breaks right down the middle. so maybe its a good thing!
---in the interim, unions still hold influence over many americans, union or NOT, especially in the boomer generation...so i cant think of a single reason to be unhappy w the fact that pot trimmers have gone union...if it changes the opinion of.......say....500 people nationwide...its a plus...those peeps may change a few more minds...shit...gotta go to work...

memphis man;3837070 as for paying into unions before you knock em look at what the unions offer members. most unions have some sort of scholarship program said:
Another take on this. I work hard and have a successful business. I have a plant manufacturing my product. I HIRE workers to produce my product. I make plenty of money because I CAME UP WITH THE PRODUCT. The people I have working in my plant came to me looking for a job. I pay a decent wage to retain quality workers. I provide insurance and other benefits.
Why do you and your union think you are entitled to my money? If you don't like what I pay and the benefits I provide, why not go look for another job? Because you bring in a union, my cost go up, my profit goes down, your new union benefits cause the price of my product to go way up ad I loose my market share to a company in India, China, or Mexico. Now that I can't compete I have to either shut down my business or move it to China. Now you have raised yourself out of a job, My customers have lost a quality made American product, and my income from MY IDEA that I worked my ass off for is going down.
You came to me looking for a job. If you don't like the way I do things you and leave and find another one.
My company was doing great. You unionized the work force. I don't like it, I shut down and move to China where my profits go up even more and the entire work force that I did employ is out of work. All because you think you are entitled to more of what I built. Let's spread the wealth. Socialism is a wonderful thing isn't it.

"Politics makes strange Bedfellows"

This is the right move to continue momentum for legalization. It's only a two yr. contract, let's not paint this in the light of absolutes.

And Trimming is a career path. Shame on you (whoever you are) to discount the millions of already legal harvesting jobs in the world. Go hand pick some fruit for a few months and tell me how that isn't a real worthwhile job. Very Migratory and very necessary for ALL Ag. farms, regardless of the product.

There's more, but this is enough for me to let you guys know where I stand.

Happy Sunday

Peace

I remember when peach farmers would have "farm stores" for the migrant workers to cash their check, for a fee, and basic groceries that had a higher price. Then charge high rent for the farm housing. Really nice block buildings with a roof and a dirt floor. And not to forget about the security teams the farmers would hire to keep an eye on the migrants. Pillars of the community those guys.
