Won't Flower??

This girls' barley has preflowers. Odd thing is she is the same clone (pheno) as these gals grown only feet away...

Strain is Strawberry Haze.

Any ideas as to what would prevent a plant from flowering??

when it doesn't get total darkness flowering can be delayed 2-6 weeks , go see when it is dark if there is a streetlight or sumthin that could shine indirectly on the plants

I got same problem for years at my place , plants on other spots are 2-4 weeks earlier

I'm in the middle of no where...its completely dark back there, the only light is from the moon (I always wondered why that doesn't act as a light leak, especially when the moon is full). Like I said those other two plants where growing practically next to her, They turned out beautifully.

I made my own organic soil blend with all the nutes they'll need for the entire grow, perhaps I left the potassium out of that batch, because a I have a few others that didn't flower.

I guess I'll hit them with a hard with some pure potassium, can't hurt. A plant that doesn't flower is worthless to me.

Hey Im not an expert but the plant looks stressed, if its stressed that could be causing it. I think the flower boosters are good at locking out N indoors ( which could compound the prob )

You also didnt mention how big it was when you started 12/12 and how long ago that was. You could also try 10/14, some sativas need a very short day if they come from far up north where there is less sun, even tho they are the same pheno something like stress could have exacerbated the problem worse then it would have if it was under a shorter day

FYI the moon is commonly regarded as the least light to not cause hermies / stress. outdoors, plants evolved to deal with that little threshold of light. It's light sources that haven't been around for millions of years you need to worry about, like a big halogen security light or something like that. If you drive around at night you can see branches on some trees growing towards the big HPS street lights

If your grow area is open to the outdoors and there is a lot of light pollution other then the moon that is not good, you should be able to at least see some stars at night, if not you may be getting too much ambient man made light

I can see why they may be stressed in a GH with high humidity and little ventilation, still, back to the other plants, same pheno, and age thrived.

They rooted (clones) out in the greenhouse when the outdoor photo-period was 13/11-14/10.

Very interesting!! I've never noticed that before...

Like I said, I'm in the middle of no where...I've bet you've never seen such a starry night. We can't see lights (city glow) in any direction.

Its a shame because its a waste of like 2 plants, I should have time to get them to bounce back (Zone 8)

Thanks for the info though...K+

The only thing I can say is you could try to put it in a place of total darkness under artificial 10 / 14 lighting and see if that triggers flower, after its started for a few weeks it could probably be moved back outdoors to finish

The moon has been a problem for long enough. I'd like to blow it up, but since we don't have Death Star technology yet, I'm thinking we could just paint it black or maybe cover it with a 3 million square mile drape.

LOL, Honestly...can the moon be a problem??

IMO it isnt strong enough. but a street light or porch light could answer your delayed flowering. after you put the clones in the ground did you add N? i do agree it does look stressed (purple leaf stems).

anyway you could put up a black light deprivation tarp or a trashbag for a couple hrs to increase the dark period.
