Yeah, poor people NEVER go to the GROCERY STORE, right? Jeez! Usually your posts have me rolling, Verite. But that was kinda out there. What do you think poor people eat? Stray cats and shit? I guess she could have gone to the mission and given away some dough, if she wanted the majority of what she gave out to be spent on heroin and booze.

Calling something funny and bashing it are a bit different in my book. Ive been poor before too and the last place you could have found me then was cruising a cart thru a grocery store ( no sense taking groceries to a pretend fridge in a non-existant house, is there?)

And just how hard is it to give the money to the mission house?

That's quite a list. I'd love to be a philanthropist when I grow up ;-)

Funny, why go someplace where its obvious people have money to begin with?

Eh, um, Verite, are you referring to the grocery store, or Denver?? Because either way, believe me, if that was in Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida area, which is filled with rather wealthy people, there's still a fuckload of dirt poor in this area that would definately appreciate that $100. This place might be a mecca for the filthy fucking rich (islands included) but there's still folks who've been here for a generation or 2 that are damn near flat broke trying to make ends meet, and some, like my neighbors, who are just barely above the poverty line (I live in a very, very mixed neighborhood)

Oh, funny story about regarding the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota! When Laura Bush was down here a while back, she was staying in the Ritz's penthouse. Now, my family's friends with a well-known (and highly respected) local band, and they told us about one night they played a gig at the Ritz in the ballroom, and Laura Bush's "people" were sent down to tell the band to, and I quote, "Play more quietly" because they were "Disturbing the First Lady while she was trying to rest." WTF??? The ballroom's on the first floor, and the penthouse is something like 10 or 15 floors up! (Maybe more)

Takes all kinds in this town.....
