Jamaican bobsled team is a real thing, they are there now. Their equipment was thought lost at first but did arrive in Sochi.

Yep, speed skating and downhill skiing.
I wish they would come up with a version of skiing that was "Medium Slalom" - in between Slalom and Giant Slalom.
Slalom you're going about 25 miles per hour, Giant Slalom, 50 mph.
Personally, I try to cap it at about 40 miles per hour. And I hate slamming into poles.
I have talked to other amateur skiers and "people who skied in school", and asked them about the gates in Slalom. Nobody LIKES slamming into the gates.
I would like to see an event where it was power turns all the way down, at about 40 miles per hour.

Today I liked the luge and biathlon. Damn I wish the commentator would get her act together tho.... IF they miss a shot on biathlon they don't "do another lap"!!! Like she said. D

I guess I'm just being an old stodgy fucker but it seems to me like some of the newer events just aren't ..."Olympic-like". I'm speaking specifically here of the half-pipe. Granted it takes real athleticism but seems like it is only reserved for a select few, is very condition and equipment dependent (mostly why White lost, the poor conditions I think), and a little too show-like. Those flips are fun to watch I guess though. It's largely an American event, American invented too. Apolitical my hairy ass.
Still, when they cancelled wrestling in the summer games I thought WTF? That's a main thing that started them going isn't it?. I guess they should cancel some other events like javelin throwing too.
Maybe they should have free-style skateboarding now too.
