Window in grow room

I live out in the country for starters, so I am not worried about neighbors.

I have a window that is forming condensation, ever so slightly in my grow room.

The grow room is a dedicated bedroom that has access to the houses 4ton trane hvac unit. The ceiling vent is closed 99%, so I am not blasting my heat into the grow room.

The room is 13 x 15 with a 10x10 tent in the center. It is tight. The 10x10 tent has an 8" intake from the closet on the far side from the window. It filters air into the tent. There is an exhaust fan and carbon filter inside the tent that is ducted and vents air out of the bedroom and into the hallway towards an air purifier before it reaches the central hvac return. Temps inside the tent along with humidity are perfect.

The humidity in the room (outside the tent) is staying around 34%, and 70-72F depending on if I am running the central hvac heater. I leave the ceiling fan turned on so I can have ample air circulation around the tent.

I noticed the 10x10 AC infinity tent is not going to be 100% light proof.

MY ISSUE:

I have some curtains on the window to somewhat black out the room. But I am getting condensation every so slightly forming on the inside of the glass in this particular room. How do I fix this condensation on the glass during winter, and keep the window blacked out from messing with my grow? I have 100 feet of panda film. But If I black out the window entirely, I'll have no air flow and lots of condensation forming here.

What would you do for the other side of this?

Cover the 10x10 ac infinity tent in panda film? And then I can leave the window curtains more or less cracked open. And then put a fan on the window?

I mention the neighbors and being out in the country because I am also contemplating some form of blackout on the exterior window, however I don't want it to look bad. Any ideas?

I’d put blinds in the window so that’s what is seen from outside. Then I’d airtight seal the window from the inside.

If you’re already using the whole room space, ditch the tent. The smaller the lung room in comparison to the tent, the harder it is to dial in temp/humidity.

I run some tents for cloning, veg, and plant isolation. But, my flower room is a 15x15 foot sealed room with co2, dehumidifier, ac, and a million fans.

Put some absorbing crystals for wardrobes on the window sill.
Use net curtains or a roller blind then the curtains closed behind them.

If you have a whole room to use and it’s dedicated to flowering(no mums) Ditch the tent.

Check widow sill every few months to replace water crystals and check for mould or water condensation damage/build up.

Check if you hygrometer is working correctly. Either compare to other good quality ones or calibrate it.
To calibrate you make a super saturated solution of table salt. That is water (prefereably RO) with so much salt that is doesn't dissolve but forms a layer at the bottom. Put a cup of that slurry in a plastic bag with the hygrometer and seal it. After about a day to equilibrate it should read around 75 % at 20 °C.

Hi, im not sure if my help will be usefull here but, maybe can you try with less spend of money using something like some strong adaptable seed with a kind of soil that fix the condensation?

It’s 33% at room temp. As temp falls rh increases until condensation starts. It’s easy for a 20*F window to get some condensation in an otherwise dry room with poor airflow.

His dew point is 4 °C. If the window gets so cold at just -6 °C outside then the window is shit and should be replaced.

With little to no warm airflow heating the glass it will equalize with outdoor temps, even a double pane.

A little fan will fix this just like a defroster in a car.

And when the room is too hot you open a window instead of turning the radiator down?

Fix the problem, don't put a bandaid on it.

Double glazing mate

Probably not the answer you were looking for but, the cold glass panel captures humidity from your room, as long as the other side of the glass is cold, it will capture water vapor from the air, so another layer of glass fixes all of that

I have double glazed windows. Even triple pane windows will get condensation.

As a glass of ice water sits and melts the ice, the outside of the glass gets condensation on it.

The coldest thing in the room will act as a dehumidifier. The window is acting like the glass cup. Since its warm inside, any moist air condenses on the window.

To combat the issue, I am testing a 120mm pc fan that is suction cupped to the window. Its actually pretty sweet how it all worked out. I am going to monitor over the next few days.

As for the tent and potential light leaks, I threw a single layer of panda film on it. I like the tent because I can control the humidity and temps with how I have it setup. I can maintain two separate environments this way and it has been working to my advantage.
