window ac without box?

soon it will be cold outside I will still need ac could I mount it inside the house with the heat blowing part in an other room
could I use a 8000btu window unit without the whole box duct and fan set-up this winter in my house it's cold around my grow but get hot inside the grow space with 2k of light on. would it be just like when it hang outside a window for the ac

push the air around the house unsing ocillating fan just to make sure hot hair spread around the house and have some water container collecting under it

but this make sense in my stoned out brain think that I could use the eat generated for my living space and cool the grow spot but if I am wrong please tell me

what about just leaving the ac in your grow area and forget about the excess heat since IMO the cold air will overkill the hot air

btw coolpotnamegone have you ever thought of aircooling your lights and have the heat from your lights sucked out into your house through your bedroom door

not true. window units or any ac for that matter will create more hot (exhaust) air than they make of cold air.

don't believe me? put your window ac in a closet plug it in close the door, open again in 5 minutes it will be HOT in there.....

Check out the second law of Thermodynamics..........It states:

"The Second Law essentially says that it is impossible to obtain a process where the unique effect is the subtraction of a positive heat from a reservoir and the production of a positive work. Energy exhibits entropy. It moves away form its source. In this sense, energy or heat cannot flow form a colder body to a hotter body. You cannot keep a continual flow of heat to work to heat to work without adding energy to the system. In machine terms, you have to add energy to get more work, and the ratio of heat to work will never equal 100% due to energy expanding away from its source."

Ha ha ha,

My Dad was a big time factory maint. supervisor and when I was a teenager and dreaming up all kinds of free energy schemes.....he always dumbed down the 2nd law to my level this way.....

this sounds like the best plan of action to me, and it would really help heat your home. you'd be friggin shocked at how much heat those lights and ballasts generate!!!
