I'm at 34N and I'm about to buy some seeds. Will Haze, Malawi Gold, etc. finish here--or will I be wasting my time?

Hmmmm. Apparently the average December temperature here is 45 degrees. But the average December low temp is just above freezing. Not looking good if they will flower 'till Christmas. Also not a lot of cover vegetation left then.

Anybody actually get any to finish outdoors in similar climes?

I live in the south, I've had outdoor plants go through a freeze, they did fine, its the prolonged freezing or trying to veg in cold weather that turns freezing.....in tropical climates your plants can get hit by a frost and most often always recover. I've heard from people in canada have crops hit by two frosts before harvest and they still recovered. 45 degrees can sometimes induce purple hues on your flower, I've also found buts are denser in cool air. but I've not done an outdoor sativa grow before, no patience. I'm sure as long as you veg for not to long and flowering time is no more than 100 days, youll be good.

It is a little late to start the malawi at 34 n on the east coast and get it in without mold problems. The odds are you will finish before the frost but the shorter days of fall the fall rains and cool temps will give you bud mold. If you started it right now nevilles might be ok. Nigerian sativa should be fine all of the south africans shoud be fine. Celestial temple sativa will do well outside in the south. Santa marta gold would be ok if you started it soon. If you started malawi in january or february it would probably be fine but not if started in may. You need at least 7 months to do a malawi outside at 34 n. Stay away from the se asians and the malawis. There is still quite a lot of pure sativas evenstill I recommend pure sativas in the south because they handle the heat and humidity well.

Of those you mentioned, I've heard good things about SSH and celestial temple haze. I'm really looking for something true breeding, though, and I guess neither of these are. Do you know anything about the others--other than their descriptions on Seed Boutique?

What I really want is a good daytime smoke (most weed makes me too drowsy) that I can plant around the farm and let go to seed every so often. I don't want to set up the equipment for keeping mothers alive and I don't want to take the risk of ordering seeds every year.
