I always laugh when I hear all these stories about how this or that cannabis strain came about. Most of it is pure fiction that's been passed around the internet for years. Spread by someone who heard it from so and so who's cousin knew X and told Y this and that.
There's a difference between the stories of illegal actions from clandestine organizations being told online and what they tell you in person when given the genetics directly.

Nobody really discusses the truth because of who and what it all involves. So, the trite 'bagseed' or mystery pollen stories are told to hide the truth.

I never read about Kris Kristofferson on ICMag. But he sure was involved with a lot of breeding going back as far as the 60s.

CB came out of a brick of Maui Wowie. Mr. G dug through the entire brick and found 7 seeds that he developed into Cherry Bomb. From working it I now have the original, a green pheno I call 7-Up and a purple one. They all have different tastes and different highs.

Enjoy!
growing 4 old cb now.[.thanks heirloom..]

will repro regardless of whether its too afg for me..

hint..my[old]" crazy about special sativa only" friend said real maui wowie was the best weed he ever had

though maybe he said thai stick was#1 fave..at anyrate its means MW had very sativa euphoric up happy long lastting high

and mr grayeyes..

will do my best to find the 7up pheno in what you have selected...

if that old guy sativa grower seeker friend of mine said MW was that good

then it is SO worth finding

Ps growing boel oaxacan too...that should be fun..[slight over whelmed self deprecating sarcasm]

along with another19 varieties.

[the things old guys feel they have to do because they don’t wanna admit they’re old ]

ps

20 yr old Ducks Foot..

on the repro list.

need both genders please

Hello everyone. :watchplant:

Still in veg waiting for flower room space. Two females and a male. Showing the 2 females. Nodes are fairly close on both. MW 7 has lots of red. Both have very nice smells and sticky in veg. Looking forward to tasting these.

I like your style Zanddar! What strains are the large plants in your room?
I hope you have a large flowering room, because those MW are going to explode under 12/12!

The larger plants in the back are GB males, MW females and a male MW off to the right side near the Panama. Panama is on the right side. She is the tall stick with a few leaves on top.
All the small clones in small pots are Malawi, MW and GB.
Space Dawg and Agent Orange clones behind the camera, not in view.

Hello everyone. :watchplant:

MW 18 and 7 are in flower now.
great stuff...
an old guy i know who has never even smoked indica said original mowie wowie was the best weed he ever smoked..

my guess is that the sativa provided this..

growing 8 cherry bomb green pheno[apparently more sativa] old seeds from mr 53grayeyes.. hoping for more skinny leaf and lemon
and boel oaxacan from rc colas. already smell lemon with fairly wld leaves
have some cherry bomb plants from heirloom..no lemon so far, pretty wld

interested in the out come of those MW you have ...they look narrow enough to get me going

thanks for the thread and all the best

Hi everyone :canabis:

MW at 4 weeks of flower. Nice resin started on MW18 and it was stickier than MW7 in veg. MW18 smells of a sweet fruit. MW7 is sweet smelling and a bit different. I will most likely be making seed from this strain and crossing it to some of my other females.

The male is a huge and vigorous plant.

Just stopped by in order to shed some light over the subject. As funny as it seems, that Maui Wowie was a reproduction from Greengene's Cherry Bomb seeds that I did years ago with a bunch I've received from an old forum guy and seed collector I was close to. The source of TLTs were some seeds that I shared back then with Criposo from Colombia, without knowing he worked so closely with TLT or was such an interested guy (found out later he used to be the main guy doing the reproductions of the strains they sourced through forums, before selling them out). It seems they have a bunch of growers doing repros for them now. Lately some customers that reproduce the strains after paying for them, end providing fresh seeds back when TLT runs out of stock, especially from highly demanded ones thanks to the hype from reviews and nice pictures provided from "landrace influencers" from Instagram like Jade Nectar Farms and so on.

I've sent Criposo a bunch of pure lines (including Cherry Bomb, Jamaica Blue Mountain, Philippines, Myanmar Karen, Manali, Colombian Black, Cohiba and some others) in return of some Colombian seeds he offered, because some common friends like Yaxu mentioned he was another passionate landrace collector and grower at the time and Charlie Garcia also dealed with him from his trips to Colombia. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately he ended revealing himself as someone untrustworthy and with a dark side, since I've found out many of those strains ended in their website despite we often discussed about this kind of practices. Of course after years of excuses he dissapeared without never sending anything as promised. Not that I care, but you get the idea. Fool me once but won't fool me twice...

Forget all the made up stories and marketing TLT usually post or reply to curious customers, they will tell you what you want to hear in order to take your money, like most companies do anyway. There's always a simple and shady story behind each and every one of their lines and any similar company, be it forums or local growers that popped up in the Instagram landrace scene and did deals with them. TLT are selling Jamaica BM and Jarilla de Sinaloa, Lambsbread (Longtime), the Cherry Bomb, Azure's Papua and many others I don't even remember. You can choose to support it or not, but don't believe the hype lol. In the end only the scene looses credibility.

P.S: a picture I kept as a proof of what we sent to Colombia, hoping they would be preserved and shared with other landrace lovers and breeders from South America without interests or greed involved, like it was done before they reached our hands and did our thing in order to keep the circle going.

Anyway, good for them. In the end only the scene loose credibility with this. Karma watches though!

I have a nice wld female in full flower from your CB seed...as well as another CB seedlot from another person

....I look forward to seeing what both are like..

have some BOEL Oaxacan pollen on it...

the Boel Oax lemon cleaner smell and structure is very impressive so far

the beautiful CB from your seed has an interesting spicy chemical smell..[not lemon]

Hi everyone.

It's a sad day to have to post this. This strain was looking and smelling really good. I thought this would become another favorite strain to breed, but it has went another direction. The one female developed male flowers all over it and it was releasing pollen. I took it down fast and binned it, then realized I should take some pics to show you. The other female had bananas on it and was binned too. This really hurts, as I loved this strain. The plants were beautiful, both in veg and flower.

TLT was good enough to provide me with replacement seed for the poor germination I had with their seed.
I still have 15 more MW seed to do and some other seed from TLT. These will be done later and I'm moving on to another.

END of story.

Later.
