Will a 600w be too much?

I have a room that is 43 inces (length) by 34 inches (width) by 53 inches (height). I want to run a 600 watt light, would it be too much for this space?

My plan is to run a carbon scrubber attached to either a cool tube or an air cooled hood to a fan. I currently have a vortex 172 and it is doing a perfect job pulling through a DIY carbon scrubber and keeping temps rather cool, but that is with a 400 watter in a larger area, what about my smaller cab with a larger light?

So if I get a larger fan, and a larger light, will I be ok? Or should I stick with my 400 in that space? I plan to build a carbon scrubber to the CFM of the new fan if you all think I can cram a 600 in there....OK your thoughts........GO!

U will be fine with the 600....as long as u can control your temps the plants will love the extra wattage! I run the same wattage in about the same space (higher ceiling though) and keep my temps down by makin sure i got the door open and fan running. Good luck!

i think you've got about 10 sq foot so a 600 would be perfect - but you'll need to do something like scrog or lst to keep the height down

Irie, what size fan are you running? Or I guess what would you suggest? I am thinking another vortex fan, but not sure what cfm I should be looking at

Yeah, it'll work. I have a 600w in a 2'x4'5' WxLxH. The only thing I would suggest is doing a scrog or lst as already stated, cause some of my buds and leaves are burned from being to close to the light, even when air-cooled.

I'm running my setup with the 6" vortex, 447 cfm I think. You might get away with something smaller, but I don't think you would need anything bigger.

appreciate the responses. I plan on doing sog, but I suppose I could learn a new method......I guess it is strain dependent as well.......I guess I will run a few runs with my 400 converted to a cool tube and see what happens...

Love this forum!

It is good that you have the 400, for in that case, I would run the 600, and if you have problems (which i doubt) you could always swap.

And since you are already planning on sog, you might as well go scrog (screen of green).
