I'm drawing up plans for my new grow cab, and I have some questions. My floor space in this cabinet is 47" by 19" and I plan on getting a 400w HPS light with a 6" cool tube. I plan on having two rows of 4 plants, for 8 plants total. So I have 50w per plant, but a little less wattage per foot.
What I'm worried about is the 2 ends of the floor not getting enough light. Using a rectangular reflector is out, I need my hood aircooled or temps will be completely unmanageable, but I know the cool tube is going to be inefficient for rectangle shaped lighting. Should I supplement the ends by throwing a 2' floro tube on each end vertically? Or is that going to be a waste with the 400w?
One Other thing that might be worth knowing, the cab is a perpetual grow, so the plants closest to harvest will be in the middle directly under the light, while new pants from the veg box will be on the outside edges.
Any input is appreciated. I've always just rushed headlong in to grows, this time I'm making a plan and sticking to it. I have a lot tO iron out but things are coming together
