Wii

I

IwannagethighOG

All I need is one of those Wi controllers for PC and a Wii emulator and I am set. Then we'll see Zelda in HD on my G88.
Now if I can only get this annoying clicking in my jaw to stop.

This thread is Wiitarded.

360 went down 100$..It was $500 on launch day..Personally, I'm not interested in the wii ( not knocking it )..A guy I know got it on launch day and said its great as far as the interactive aspect but for HD graphics it is definitly not its strong point...

im actually glad they arn't into the HD aspect cause i don't have any hd tvs.. ha ha

wii runs 480p widescreen. which i think is still pretty nice. none of the new hd resolutions.. 720p, 1080i, 1080p.. and that makes sense because the wii's processing power is not going to be able to render anything pretty at those resolutions anyway. x360 and ps3 pull off 720p nicely but 1080p..(which ps3 supports fully and x360 'supports' with a new downloadable software upgrade)..even they will have framerate issues if they try to run the same amount of polygons and textures and fancy tricks as they run in maxed out 720p. it all takes catering to the systems specs.. so ps3 doesn't get a special turbo boost when you run games in those high resolutions. but yeah anyway.. no wii hd rumors.. haha thats silly.

and $250 will stay around as long as the demand is very high. once it starts to fall off i see nintendo using a price drop as another genius manuever to appeal to the masses. think about it they are already making money on every system they sell. and it just launched. where xbox is just starting to fine tune its production lines.. the hardware sales themselves have been losing microsoft money the whole time. ps3's predicted losses have recently increased due to the problems mass producing components of the system. the losses are substancial. nintendo will very likely play the price drop card.

not only will nintendo come out on top because of the price, but because this is the future of gaming. it's a step in the direction of virual reality. while your still pressing buttons on the 360 and mostly pressing buttons on the ps3, the wii's game play is almost exclusively motion oriented. it's inovative, its new, and imo, its the future of video games.

"Project 5" aka Wii, involves increasing the intelligence of chimpanzees using drugs and virtual reality.

after reading this and having my own thoughts one of the only downsides i see is the games seem like they are more for little kids. I like a lot of the xbox and ps3 games a lot better, but some of the wii games are going to be great, just some.

imagine this Rusto:

ps3 is 600 or some obscene price right? what if they dont sell enough? its possible that sony and microsoft, after lossing a significant amount of money, could sell their game licences to nintendo.

the odds of this are probably pretty low, but a kid can dream cant he?

imagine gears of war..........with a Wii controller.

i think wii is so fun because its so different than the other gaming systems. only down side is it does take a little physical effort to play most of the games. i was very sore after playing the game all nite. mostly the boxing game got to me. the animation is a little weak but its a good trade off for the way it is played. very fun!

I still haven't been able to find one anywhere. Whenever I get up early to go pick one up there's always a line of 40+ waiting at the door. Another thing is the managers of these big retail chains don't even know themselves when they should be expecting in thier next shipment unless they're playing stupid..... :badday:

I'm getting one at the start of the year. It changes how games are played.
Look what Sony did "We inserted a tilt control to our controllers, new thing. We did it."

Like I've stated before, I've played for the past 20yrs so I think I've experienced quite a bit of what games have to offer so I want a bit more than just that normal punching of buttons. PS3 may have the advance of bluray and HD but what percentage actually have HD tv's? In europe I think it's well under 20%. (No real clue about that, just a guess)

Maybe fps's can now be played with a console, I usually don't like fps genre. I try to avoid games that's basic idea is to kill/destroy everything. Some people say that Wii's games are graphically for kids? I think the graphical style is good for inviting non-gamers to grab that Controller. Everything doesn't have to be realistic, if I want to see some reality I go outside or look out of the window. Wii's graphics are great for what they are designed to be and working for the concept of quick gaming experience, you can just grab that controller and bowl to see who lights the next bowl. :p

I'm also getting a x360 and/or ps3 when I can find one used and with a decent price on it. But Wii is the thing for me. For the past year DS has been the console I've been playing. N has been the leader of technical advancements of gaming. Not graphically but really changing the way we play.

I have been trying to get one forever now, I cant manage to get my hands on one of those damn Wiis though.
I didn't want to purchase one when I heard about them before they launched, I figured who wants to play video games if you cant sit there and act like your a vegetable doing so. Boy was I wrong, this is the funnest system to date, and while it doesn't have close to the processing power of the xbox 360 and gayS3, its controllers and price beat them into submission.
However, I enjoy online gaming and I do believe wii will fail miserably at this, because as of right now, no games support online gaming, even ports from other systems that did e.g. Call of Duty 3. This is going to be the biggest pitfall of the wii, that and perhaps a lack of 3rd party support, which shouldn't happen since aparantly they are selling tons, since I can not seem to get one.
If your afraid of losing out on your 250 dollars your going to plunk down on it, I have two pieces of advice.
1) Get a better job.
2) Wait a year to see if they got the 3rd party support and online play that they need to survive in this next gen world.

Edit: If you can only afford one console this year, get a Xbox 360 and xbox live.

i have a wii and i have to say i love it... i am however dissapointed in the online play part of it.. i bought call of duty 3 thinking it would be cool to play with the controller.. actually its amazingly hard for me for somereason, probably cuase im used to strafe shooting and whatnot with the xbox. i was really hoping it was going to get online gaming, im sure it will happen in the future im just not happy its not available at launch.. but as far as fun and entertainment factor, the wii is going to be a huge hit. i cant wait for mario galaxy and super smash bros.

well for those that dont have HD TVs, id be investin one of those, well before a game system.

360 runnin Call of Duty on a hiDef 50" panasonic LCD, late at night, surround sound poundin, ripped on the wreck, up close so you are lookin right and left, is a mind blowin experience once tuned into the game.

Gears of War hopefully makes it to my set:D

like to get a PS3, for my all time #1 game GrandTurisimo....so feckin hard to get, ill just hang tight on my messiah PS2 till the PS3s start workin anyway, lol.
