why does cannabis affect my eating habbits so greatly?
not talking about the munchies, more so the lack of munchies.
so i have had no weed for about three days. when i run out of weed, i run out of hunger. now when i was a wee lad, my eating habbits were a bit weird back then as well. i would be hungry 1 - 3 times a day and eat huge meals when i did. when i wasn't hungry i just simply wouldn't eat (even if i should of). my stomach could be empty, but if i wasn't hungry... i just wouldn't eat, but back then it all balanced out.
so anyways, day three of being dry.
in the past three days, i have had about 4 small meals, and still no actual hunger. my stomach might growel a bit and is obviously a really empty, but am i not hungry. now this might make no sense to some, but it does to me... it is like my stomach and my mind are on two different levels, ya know?
so anyways, here i am being exhausted and wanting to eat... but at the same time when i eat i take a few bites and i am done or it feels sickening to eat when im not hungry!!! i can't really explain it more than that and i feel i am repeating myself over and over again so i won't really continue.... i assume if someone has the same problem they know what i am talking about.
any advice?

oh yea, and when i am smoking my eating habbits are good / sometimes eating too much.. so pretty much not having weed makes my body explode with confusion.

There have been some theories put forth. For example, since marijuana increases metabolism, your body's natural reaction to that would be to try and replenish calories.

damn. The same kind of things happen to me. Ill be really hungry. I eat a few bites and feel completely full . Also when i eat certain foods they will taste great but after maybe a few bites I have to put it down and eat something else.
And I noticed if I don't smoke my appetite really is nothing. I have an extremely high metabolism though. I eat tons and tons of food yet im so skinny.

running out of weed and dealing with life straight when you are used to dealing with it stoned, or at least having the state of being stoned as a sanctuary being taken away from you will generate a greater level of stress in your system than it is use to sustaining long term. The body reacts to stress with the fight/flight reaction, which includes aspects such as supressing hunger. So while in this state of enhanced stress, hunger is reduced greately. At least thats what I think. I've wondered about it myself.

Cool, that's what I like about this place. It's not always flame war.

It's great to learn these things, me too, weird eating behaviour, but I smoke a lot of beasters, it's not really weed.

The exact same thing used to happen to me just a few months ago. The empty stomach feeling but just can't gorge or eat a decent meal, but take a single hit and it all comes back. Now it doesn't happen for some reason, maybe it's because I'm starting to work out again. It does help with the boredom and anxiety, plus you get beefed up for the summer season. Or it could be the lack of good food.

It's also weird that I haven't been getting my usual withdrawal symptoms, ie insomnia and extreme irritability. I guess my body's starting to cope, and I've been semi clean for 2 weeks(scraping pieces and jars, but now it's all definitely gone) :badday: .

This used to happen to me some years back. I came to the conclusion that smoking every day was doing me no good. Now I never smoke more than three days in a row and then have at least two days off. My appetite is normal and I don't get the raving munchies every time I smoke.

Peace..

happens to me...ive only been w/o weed a very few times in the last 30 yrs of smokin weed of all kinds.

good to know there are others...

Just out of curiosity how much do you weigh? What you describe sounds all too familiar to me,except I've concluded cannabis not to be the cause at all. This may sound goofy to a lot of people but have you ever really thought about how you feel about food?I happen to have the opposite problem of people my age,I'm not getting fatter I'm dwinding away.I've done a lot of soul searching, eating to me is an undesirable chore that just keeps me alive anymore.I can sit for hours with my stomach rumbing feeling guilty that I'm not doing a damn thing about it until I finally break down and eat something.Sometimes things are deeper than we like and its very easy to put it off on substances we ingest,it absolves us of the responsibility lol
