hey mate you need to wash and sterilise everything before you next crack some seeds and then not water them too much either (in addition to whats already been said)

damping off is fungal.

use new coco for the seedlings too

Let me step in here. Please listen, this has happened to me several times in coco and I could not figure it out.I lost alot of seedlings! When starting seeds in coco you have to "charge" the coco with nutrients, especially calcium and magnesium. It becomes even more of a problem if your using RO or distilled water. When you get the coco, it has no nutrients what so ever. The fist nutrients you water the coco with is absorbed into the coco and locked until it is "charged".This is what you need to do, water your seedlings with full strength veg nutes, preferably with Cal-Mag.Sorry if this sounds confusing, but trust me, that is why your seedlings are dying....

Love how your opinion and what worked for you is the end all.. Maybe you should be moderator or even admin.. the point of this site, is that WHAT WORKS FOR ONE DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK FOR THE REST.. just because it worked for you doesn;t mean it's the end all solution for his problem... I am going to agree with 10k.. No need to over fert seedlings, period.. Verdant hit the nail on the head..

just wanna throw out there it could be bad soil too. i had a bag of starter mix that i had used before (other bags), and my seedlings kept growing for about a week, then stop for a week, then get really weak/thin stems and die. lost all my NL5xBB seeds that way :(... bought a new bag and they grew fine...

but other than that sounds like overwatering

Whoa there kushism.Im just giving my opinion as to what went wrong and trying to help him fix his issues so he doesn't have to watch any more seedlings die.My advice comes from experience growing in coco for the past few years(and loosing many seedlings in the same way).Like I stated before, everyone has a right to there opinion.Including you and myself.Im doing nothing other than trying to help.As I said follow 10k's advice and post your results. Its the only way for us to learn from each other. No need to be arrogant...:2cents:

My first thoughts when you mention they get tall and fall over was not enough light.

But now, when you say they become very thin and cringe and die, I have to ask you...
Are they just falling over at the base of the stem and getting kind of soft mushy and dark around base of the stems?

ie: "damping off"

yes man!Just like you said.Soft mushy and dark around base of the stems

So grodog, were your seedlings falling over from getting soft, mushy and dark around the base of the stems or not ?
