Why is Blue dream safe in rain?

No such thing as a mold free strain the right RH, the right temps to allow a fungus to grow or bacteria thrive
We have to remember, some strains are from wet regions and thrive in wet humid areas as well as other strains , are naturally grown in dry desert like areas ..

This is why one has to do his home work on a strain.. its not wow it has nice redish blue nugs or red ques etc what most look at when deciding a strain.
Or the latest fad or cup winning strain.. most novice wanna be commercial growers want because its the highest priced weed at a dispensary.

true growing is understanding which strains do well in your area , its not about the law of 77 degree temps and 60 rh is the law on growing a plant ..
some plants thrive more at higher humdity and some do not some thrive at higher temps and others do not

Its all about making that plant tick and grow and yield the best that it can which 80 percent of the growers out there will never be able to achive if not more

There to Zombie locked into growing the plant like every one else does and that also fail

So again what i am tryin to explain is some strains addabt better to Wet land areas then others plain n simple its all Luck of the draw when it comes to mold

As far as mold free strains go if any PCK is by far the most resilient for mold here 100 percent RH no bud rot that is real frost

harvesting in the rain ,

loss of terps & extra pressure put on the drying room ........ not worth it imo

Yep that is correct, for the most part.
You can take your chances or harvest and take no chances and feed the bottoms. Its what I did.

No loss of tricombs its not water soluable and I have the twister on rails. 200X showed a galaxy of crystals.

why you taking chance if you seem to think blue dream is so mold resistant ?
anyways , seems argumentative from me ..... its not though . more curious .

i don't harvest in the rain regardless , no way no how . wait it out . if its light shower and plants dry off quick enough , yes . i like to wait several days after any form of rain , for the terps the return ,

though if i backed right up and things are passing full maturity , you go to do what you got to do .
think its pic time ? pics make thread way more enjoyable .

the tops only were taken. :peacock:

They had started to amber and the hairs were receding into red and orange.
Final product is perfect. Second harvest is 10 days out.

I don't like Blue Dream because it's the most popular strain in the USA. It's been my lifelong goal to never follow what all the sheeple do.:tiphat:

I know and the high demand in the bay area also makes it a really lame choice for servicing clubs because when its gone they keep asking for it.

My biggest consideration is always whether it's done or not. If it's not finished I don't care if some molds as long as I get a mature harvest. There are exceptions if it's mid October, a week of low temperatures and rain, but otherwise I sweat it out. Most times it comes through unless it's a pure Indica.
I'm in Washington state, doesn't matter what strain you're growing it will start to mold. High humidity, flowers heavy with water that doesn't get the chance to evaporate. Never had a mildew problem outdoors, I associate mildew with warm dry August temperatures.
Once the plants get soaked a couple times it washes off. I've read there's two types of PM, one that likes hot and dry, the other likes cool and damp. I get both so I imagine it doesn't get a foothold.
I don't like harvesting wet plants unless I have to. A lot of times it looks fine when you cut it but grows in the drying room. Got to keep a close watch after you cut and hang it for two or three days.
Even in wet weather most times you'll get some afternoon clearing, a chance for the flowers to dry out. If it continues overnight I like to harvest the next morning. Usually it's frosty with increased terpenes. I've been shocked by how much resin can increase in overcast skies and cool temperatures.
This year I had tons of stem rot. It would rain, a branch or two would get boytritis, then the sun comes out and kills it. Same happened to a couple mold patches in flowers, I have a theory that UV radiation kills boytritis. So I was taking down branches early because a small dead patch would strangle the entire branch. I had very little flower grey mold but quite a few dead branches.
There were very few branches with active mold spores on them, usually after getting soaking wet. You've seen it, where you bump the branch and a poof of spores showers the area. That is to be avoided, don't want to smoke spores that float to flowers. I'll soak the branch down in rubbing alcohol, kills the mold instantly. Works good for a main stem if it isn't rotten all the way through. Sometimes I'll smear antibiotic ointment on afterwards, seems to work.

Popular is not necessarily bad.

It's not like Blue Dream is Hillary Clinton.

Man, I've about had it with all the mainstream candyass strains out there. If I can identify one without having to grow it then that's what I do. You can have my lifetime share of bluedream.:tiphat:

its raining pull the blue dream in ffs , its gonna melt like a ice-cream on a summers day :) you can trust me i,m a ice cream salesman

My experience with Blue Dream is different :D It rained hard a few times, it holds up pretty well. I only get mold on caterpillar damaged buds. All my other strains are done, BD proudly standing, that's mainly because of the damn cats took on the early birds though. Same as Herbie's Afghani freebie.
