Your asking questions... & answereing them at the same time.
ph screwed... moved lights " UP " to 2 feet ". wow... how close were they, what size lights. Why put in miracle grow if you have foxfarm ? :spank: :fsu:
I had the same problem with my lights my last grow, but i moved mine up from 2 feet... moved up in light size though... first run w/ these lights.
Had 400 for yrs. more light IS better

I'm just a noob, so somebody else can probably help you with the details, but you need to give tons more info IMO.

You said miracle grow soil ? Which one ? The organics line ? Which organic MG ? There's two different ones. The regular time release ? If it's the time release, it's no wonder that your PH is fucked, because that soil has a very low PH.

Are you feeding your plants ? If yes, then with what ? And how much ? And how often ? Do you check the PH runoff when watering or feeding ?

What lights are you using ? How far away ? What's the temps and humidity in your cab ?

etc. etc. etc.

I think that it's hard for anybody to diagnose your problems, since there's so many variables and combinations of factors which can contribute to problems.

Maybe you should try posting in the infirmary, and filling out that huge checklist that they have there.

It seems like he's having heat burn not nute burn but like you said, no way of telling unless gives much more info.

Lacking more info, there's no way to help. Look at that strech. Could be too much light is cooking them, could be so little light is making them strecth out for more ...

Go here and fill out the questionaire that applies and hope MynameStich feels curious enough to look

1 word, Rootbound...
Thats probably the better part of the problem as is heat stress...
They are stretched because they are seedlings, and they haven't been transplanted yet, when you do transplant try to cover as much of the stem below the round leaves as possible.
Sooner the better in their case.
No nutes for awhile, whatever is in the soil should be fine, but plain ph'd water for awhile...
Check the infirmary too, Stich is far more educated on deficiencies than I, but I have done the same to more than a few plants... :D
New soil, and plain water usually do the trick when they are that small.

Your plants aren't burning from the lights unless you have really really poor ventilation.

I have put my 400W light 12 inches from seedlings without ever coming close to burning them.

Your seedlings are burned because you didn't make up your soil correctly.

You should have used a seed starter soil to begin with.
And seedlings do not need nutes of any kind for at least 10-14 days.

Most likely you have a pH issue as well. If you can save them at all, try transplanting into a properly made soil mix. Check the organic section and soil mixes by "BurnOne".

dreaded... thanks for the help, actually i wasent anwsering my own questions i was putting out possibilities that it could be.
And have you even grown before?? You dont have a single pic :-/
This is my 1st real grow so i want everything to go perfect

GREENHEAD! thank you for your interest and help...
-Im using a 600 WAT HPS was about 12 inches now raised to 24 inches since leafs burn
-Marical grow organic im pretty sure, i just had to use that cuz i dident have money for good soil at the time :-/
-I was feeding them foxfarm growbig nutes everyother day until they started burning i stopped.
-I have not been checking soil run off. HOW WOULD I GO ABOUT DOING THAT?
just put drainage holes and water and then check the ph?
-Temp is maybe 77 degrees and humidity not sure, I have to pick up a humidity/temp meter

I THINK IM guna transfer to grow bags today with my fox farm ocean mix soil. hopefully that will get things moving alone nicely again????

ROOKIE- thank you for your help...YOU SAY when i transfer to my bags i should put soil as close to my leafes as possible? what does this do?

Pedr0 - hopefully going to have time to transfer today to my bags so i hope that fixes my ladies :)

If you don't have drainage holes that could be alot of the problem.

To test ph of the cups, water till dripping. Wait 1 to 2 hours. Then, add a little bit of distilled water to get about 1 ounce of runoff and no more. Catch this. Test ph.

I think your plants will be happier with 18/6 lighting rather than 24/0.

Too much light will bleach the tops close to the bulb not have burned bottom leaves.

I wouldn't do that if I were you.
You need to take a look at how to make soil mixes before you transplant. IMO, you are making some serious errors and you will very likely kill your plants if you haven't done so already.

Go over to the Organic Forum(doesn't matter if you are an organic grower or not) and read those sticky's, especially BurnOne's on soiless mixes. There is really good information over there. Here part of the soil mix sticky:

Or, if you use Pro Mix or Sunshine Mix...
LC's Soiless Mix #2:
6 parts Pro Mix BX or HP / Sunshine Mix (any flavor from #1 up)[regional/local potting mix with no added/built-in nutes]
2 parts perlite
2 parts earthworm castings
Powdered dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
If you use a 3 qt. saucepan as “parts” in the amounts given above, it equals about 1 cu. ft. of soiless mix and you can just dump in a cup of powdered dolomite lime.

This recipe is pretty much what I use except I use a regional/local $4.99/bag potting mix. And you better LIME your soil as emphasized above[the emphasis in the soil recipe is mine]...and not be putting anything "acidic" in it other than your nutes when it's time for them.

Im just using fox farm ocean mix soil, was planning on only adding perlite to the soil. already has worm casings in there and i should add powdered lime? i have some but i have been told dont add anything to ocean mix just perlite.

should water with the right ph balanced water for a few days before i transfer to the 2 gal bags?

youll be str8 with 25% perlite...the FFOF should already have some in there.

if you fertilizing every other day that might be too much and may be contributing to your burning issues ( alltho i suspect it was the closeness of the light and the rootbound plizzies)

Make sure to only use 1/2 strength at MOST of whatever fertilizer your using (best to test nute solutions with a meter...go get one if you have the cash). Fertilize every other watering...

Remember the plants are going to atleast double in size durring flowering (rootball and size above the soil) Make sure you plan for this...dont let em go to long in that 2 gallon bag if thats going to be the bag your finishing them in...
