Who Want's Sam To Re-Release RKS Skunk (Pre-Sweet)?

I thought most people try to avoid getting caught? Why put yourself in harm's way by making yourself stand out? It is bad enough with some strains keeping the smell down, double bagged. And as far as outdoor growing, just put a sign up showing where you are growing. My .02 IJ

i think i read on mr.nice seeds are coming out with the rks .he said he has seeds from that date and is sure he has the original rks .he just has to grow out a large lot to find the right mix. the rks i remember smelled like green beer when it went bad.

i voted Yes,,,,not to benifit myself, but to give a chance to other people to try real skunk,,

when i first got the Cheese clone it looked weird to me,,,,then i relized Cheese is just an old sativa dom SweetSkunk/sk1 with extra bit of afghan....sk1 is not as easy to get ahold of nowadays nither is that extra bit of Afghan,, old smokers are fedup with it,,,,they even breed away from skunk,,,,,most dutch peeps actualy got sick of skunk being in everything...SKUNK was a shocker to me, it`s just as good as Kalimist, SSH, Diesel,,,if not BETTER

Skunk smelling weed is as appealing as purple weed, as is candy smelling weed, and all of those aspects have the same ability to get you just as high. Which, btw is NADA!

I hear you Hoosier but that's just generalising the 'erb man, a strain or pheno's individual smell + taste which makes it stand out is very important IMO, probably more important to me than the actual strength of the high

yeah i can understand why folk would be worried about growing it due to the extreme, and penetrating odour, especially because 90% + of us have to grow our medicine undercover/away from prying eyes so to speak, and odour control is the main priority/concern in alot of our gardens, but nobody would be forced to choose and grow it if Sam does release it.

FFS, if Sam cared about cashing in on the RKS thang he would have done so by now, he obviously isn't interested.

As for RKS, I really doubt that Sam's line was what people remember as RKS. Sure Sam's line had mighty stinky indica phenos back in the 70s before he worked it further, but as zamalito and many others have said, RKS has disappeared because it was an outdoor indica that when grown inside didn't have the same funk or overall quality. Commercial growing has moved indoors (due to the eradication efforts in the early 80s, cheers Reagan) so the genes being grown have changed.

RKS is still alive and well I'm sure, being grown outdoors in places like Georgia, just the seeds aren't in circulation.

All these people who craze RKS, you should be looking for indicas that really stink and leave Sam to his medical research.

If sam has access to rks, another GREAT thing would be if he bred the uk cheese into a stable uniform seed form as he did with skunk#1

All this talk about "RKS" simply reminds me of Kentucky Outdoor or Kentucky Skunk.Ive never had a skunk in seed form that has that strong odor and amazing high like ive gotten from, and i use the term loosly,rednecks. Meet you one of these guys from eastern ky or ties to eastern ky and you will find some very powerful "skunks."Im pretty sure the whole Appalachia mountain region has herb like this.

I voted yes. The RKS is alive in my state. Older country folk is the key here as well. These folks always have that skunk hidden up in the hills somewhere. The problem is that they don't share much, but will sometimes sell a bit to make ends meet. There's not a chance in hell that these guys would give up a cut either. Seclusion has kept them safe and the genetics have stuck around, but it has also cut this strain off from the main stream.
The reason everyone wants this strain back is because its not some stupid ass dutch coffee shop "super double berry chem funky chunky fruity super dog" what-have-you shit. Its real weed from the old school, therefore it remains with the old school growers.
Sam is the man, and is free to do what he wants, i just think its fun to talk about the ol' RKS and in turn, give props to a man who has brought jah herb a long ways since the early days.

No disrespect to anyone but my guess is a lot of people want it and those people would probally be old heads but I imagine the stench would over rule a lot of people from growing it. I don't mean to be negative but I would be very surprised if there were thousands growing this one. Not to hijack your thread Haze seeker but I would rather see Sam release something more like Original Haze, Kerela or old Cultivator Choice Hybrids that have been well selected. I'm greatful for the releases he has out now, Thai haze x skunk and haze x skunk, but I would prefer something without skunk, just for variety you know? You know he's got real gems out there tucked away, I would love to smoke on what he's got but everyone has their own opinion and if your opinion is I want RKS by all means do whatever you can to do it, but I think maybe a poll with different choices would go a long way to show if what people want more, do the majority want the stanky bud of skunk or is there something else the majority would want?

Great thread by the way, I know it's a tired subject but can't have any disrespect for people to keep up the search they believe it, I hope it happens for you guys.

I voted yes only becouse i feel for you guys.

You guys do relise that the sweet sk as you call it was infact a better smoke and still stunk to high heaven.

The smell was from the afi side not the sat side of the line but what would sam know right if he says the sweet more sat sk side was better he must be wrong.

There was more than just one indica leening sk lines to by the way i saw a few even a blue almost black sk line but i as did most thort the lite green sk with orange or red hairs was much better smoke than the heavy indica vertions.
