mossy that bug is NASTY I would grab that thing throw it in the air and hit it with a baseball bat, SPLAT
The plants on the other hand though... Wow the colors on those girls are amazing, so many deep tones of purple and green, very nice.
I totally forgot about friday night, so It's Monday night buds today...
This skunk stinks more than most stuff. An 8th will easily stink up a whole room, with the sweet skunky stank.
The high is alright, but it has some couch lock on the way down sometimes.
I also got something new to rip these buds.. pics later..
OMG..Gantz..the thing with the eyes.. aaaiiiyyeee
If I met that..it would hard to say which of us would get off the patio fastest..
I do not know most of the European bugs..but if you guys know a name when I spot one.. I can google it.
If I get a good sunshine day..I tend to let the plants out on the patio for a few hours..and it seems the local bugs love them as much as I do..
If they are benign..I am quite happy to leave them..all of nature is a balance..but I aint putting time and effort into getting my girls nice..for a bug feast.. strong measures will be taken..
HK..my girl is pretty..but I do have an exceptionally Beautiful pheno in my grow.
I have 2 of them at the minute..and I find it hard to keep my eyes off them..
I am just not convinced that it is a good canna trait..because..as a gardener..I would have to go see what it was..if you know what I mean..it would attract "unwanted attention"..
A weevil is any beetle from the Curculionoidea superfamily. They are usually small, less than 6 mm (¼ inch), and herbivorous. Due to the shape of their heads, weevils are commonly known as snout beetles. There are over 60,000 species in several families, mostly in the family Curculionidae (the true weevils). Some other beetles, although not closely related, bear the name "weevil", such as the biscuit weevil (Stegobium paniceum) which belongs to the family Anobiidae.
Many weevils are damaging to crops. The grain or wheat weevil (Sitophilus granarius) damages stored grain. The boll weevil (Anthonomus grandis) attacks cotton crops. It lays its eggs inside unripe cotton bolls, and the young weevils eat their way out. Zyzzyva is a genus of tropical American weevils.
Weevils are most likely to be observed in a domestic setting when opening a bag of flour although they will happily infest most types of grain including oats, barley and breakfast cereals. If ingested, E. coli infection and other various diseases can be contracted from weevils, depending on their diet.
and yours looks like a "Bagous tempestivus" or a "Chlorophanus viridis "
the big spider is not European (i hope) but i guarantee that if you'd be growing outdoors or indoors, and have some of those bad boys around your plants and some on them, no ripper in his right mind would ever touch them.
Soul Fertiliser..forgive me this time..but it went under the leaf canopy and started rattling the cola..I thought either nibbling or laying..so it had to go.
I have used 2 big bags of compost today..I have potted the 2 definite AF's up..and I was going to move the rest to the tent..but I thnk I can see another on it's way..so I will leave them another couple of days.
I have re-potted a couple of others..so I have been having a good old inspection..while I had them out in the sun..and I SPOTTED THIS....
WHATDOYOUTHINK.....DOES THAT LOOK LIKE A TRIC COMING OUT...
IF it was..it is on my perfect plant..
the Indy..that I have drooled over..right from the start..
IF it was..then the other "perfect" one I mentioned..is it's match.. and it IS a male...that would be too much to ask though wouldn't it..
It is MY FANTASY cross..
AW HELL..I HOPE SO... I WANT THAT ONE.
pipeline..both are non-af..maz/lown..but I don't care..I really dont care..as long as I can have a Indy..like the Mother.
Genetically..it still has as much % chance of producing future AF's.. as an AF pheno of the same batch of seed..
the AF pheno would just be more "predisposed" towards AF..
but I have seen them turn that on their head too..as both of my crosses had an Indy parent..and I have been plagued with sativas...
This is her with the sativa pheno..you can see the family resemblance..
This is the confirmed male of the pair..
and this is the pair of them together..they are a nice match..IF..IF..
pipeline..I am going to look that Jam up..you know when you keep seeing one in threads..and it catches your eye..I shall peruse shortly
Now I cannot wait for tomorrow to see if it really IS...
Cheers guys.. BeAn..I have just seen the last Floater photos..you are carrying a lot of colour yourself.
Here are my 2 indys..with the 2 different growth patterns. The one on the right is the hopeful girl..maz/lown..
and the one on the left..is a Definite girl..
maz/maz..f3..non-af....
and I think I am getting a male to match..in Indy..
HK..you see the pile of pots..the bottom one was the biggest I grew in last year..now look at the rim of the one on the right of the photo..that is my big pot... should get a big girl in that eh!
Here is my Sad girl..she doesn't smile at the minute..
To me it looks like a cold sensitivity..anybody?
That looks like cold damage to me, i saw the same on a skunk plant that was outside in the late season of 2005..but its wierd that that in Dec.'06 there was no dammage on a haze plant..Global warming? ??
Even I know this is a girl..and the other one is STILL tormenting me..but I am almost certain..
BeAn..I have watched this one since she went in the tent..it is the only one that has shown the sensitivity..
Now when I was on my genetic hunt on the original Mazar..
it is an INDOOR canna..
I am assuming that the LR in the cross must have given it a cold tolerance..because we have had some awful temps over here..
we even had frost for 2 mornings running..and the others have shown no problems.
So I am wondering...with this one plant..is it carrying a bigger % of the original Mazar genetics..
It will be interesting to see if the bud is different from the rest of the crop..it may be even stronger..
I hate looking at a sad plant though..
BeAn..I grew 1 canna plant in the UK..about 10 years ago
I was given the seed from our old Hippy friend..and the only grow instructions were..grow it like you would a tomato plant..
I put it in my Mothers greenhouse..(yeah)..and had to remove it when it started to force the glass out..
It was so big and bushy..it pulled the door off the greenhouse. It ended up in the house and it was just a touch off 8ft tall..and its bottom fan leaves were curled up the side of the room..which was 6ft 6ins wide...
Our oldest son used to get on his knees and worship it...
but it was a Male...
and I didn't know the difference....
Last season was the first time I have ever even seen a Female canna plant.
yea the cold nights affected that poor baby overthere.. but its not gonna die and i bet the new sprouts will do just fine if the weather catches up from now on.. but you prolly dont need any sad plants in your selective operation huh..
that story about the male canna plant brought a smile on my face
Yeah WAMEN..best thing was..I didn't smoke dope then..
I only grew it for a challenge.. I'm a gardener..I love plants..
I am not going to breed the sensitive one..I think it is a her..but..
sometimes..when I have seen a tomato do this..it makes very small fruit..with a very intense taste..I am hoping it might do the same for her buds.
One can but hope..
We did have a smoke of the LEAVES..HK..and I wasn't greatly impressed..but that is what our friend said you did..and we believed him..
Good job I met you lot at NWS eh..
Put me right..
Does anybody want to see what crosses I have planned for my AF girls..
I have the seeds planted..well most of them..
and what I am hoping is..that I get pollen...off them all.. :jawdrop:
If I have to breed the girls..
I will have them on the patio all season..
but if I can get pollen..I can store it until a nice little AF girlie comes along...bang it into her..and have my first seed off within 6 weeks of pollenation..
