Blueberries emerged on the desolate plain, aptly called The Barrens of Maine, Eastern Canada, and Quebec, following the retreat of the glaciers more than 10,000 years ago.
i think that they harvested wild Blueberries but the first domesticated ones were created in the early 20th century by a guy named Frederick CovilleYou need to let me know but I believe that the first nation or people farming the blueberry were the Native Americans of Canada and US, is that correct?

The creation of the Blueberry cannabis strain is widely credited to **DJ Short**, a renowned breeder known for his work with fruity and aromatic varieties. In the 1970s, DJ Short developed the Blueberry strain by crossing landrace genetics, primarily a **Thai sativa** (from Thailand) and an **Afghan indica** (from Afghanistan), with possible contributions from a **Purple Thai** strain. This combination resulted in the distinct blueberry aroma, flavor, and vibrant colors that characterize the strain.
While the exact lineage might be debated due to the secretive nature of cannabis breeding at the time, DJ Short's Blueberry became iconic in the 1980s and 1990s, earning accolades like the **High Times Cannabis Cup** in 2000. Though other breeders and companies (e.g., Sagarmatha Seeds) later stabilized or hybridized the strain, DJ Short is universally acknowledged as the originator of the first true Blueberry cross.
**Answer:** Yes, DJ Short is credited with creating the first Blueberry cannabis strain through selective crosses of landrace varieties in the 1970s, solidifying its place in cannabis history.
Yeah. I don't know that the individual breeder is known, but it has been around the PNW, and Alaska for years before DJ ever did any Blueberry work. It's originally an Indica/BLD type. AKBB could elaborate more, as could many others in that region who were around during the 70's/80's.Dont think so DB
