White Skunk - Rubbermaid CFL Grow

The taste/smell of this bud are out of control.
Not the typical skunk smell you'd count on with a strain like this
Its a very fruity/fresh aroma that reminds me of the scent you'd expect from a liquid dish soap...the citrus kind!

The smoke is a thick fog that rolls away like the impenetrable exhaust usually found combusting from the engine of a Peterbilt.
This condensed vapor somehow remains mild and never irritates (I think i coughed only once).

Generally, this seems like an all around great smoke.
Although, very lethargic, it definitely made me drowsy.
And a long lasting high as well.

HAHA!! I loved the smoke report...great descriptions!!!!

Keep em green bro!

Thanks all! I'm very glad the report was a success.
I must say, i was pretty stoned by the time i finished it. :p
Of course, there will be another report @ the conclusion of this grow. Perhaps sooner if I get another little nug sample..

wsalesw, im not sure about the lenses you mentioned.
I've used a 50x-100x jewelers scope with some luck.
They can usually be found on eBay for a fairly reasonable price and are great for checking trichs!
For my smoke report photograph i just used the zoom function on my cam.
Normally, I use a set of macro lenses for trich pics..but i haven't taken any of those yet.

~Peace~

hey i noticed that you were using the fox farm happy frog potting soil, how does that work in comparison to the fox farm ocean forest mix??? just curious because i've used the ocean forest mix in the past but now i just make my own soil mixes.

floppyfun, i haven't started using the happy frog yet..plan to after these clones take root.
im not sure yet, but i have some FFOF left over that i think i might mix in with the HF along with some extra perlite.
think this is a good idea?
I've heard that the HF can be a little harsh on new seedlings/fresh clones. Then again, i've heard the same for FFOF...i'll just have to try it and find out

Kish if you were going from seed then I would use some light warrior in there, but clones should be fine with HF or OF. Freshly rooted clones are hungry bro :joint:

good point Chomp.

I just put some seedlings that were a few days old into FFOF today.
They were sprouted in rock wool and were a couple of inches tall. Nice taproot coming from the bottom.
They seem to be doing fine so far.
These were some gift seeds, unknown strain..probably nothing exclusive. Oh, and one special bagseed =]
This is just an experiment...wouldn't want to ruin some high dollar seeds, y'know

As far as the skunks...they are turning into some really pretty ladies...filling out nicely ;P

day 5 bud

day 5 bud

Hello all..
Got bored this morn and took some pics about an hour into the light cycle.

Pheno2 is the tall girl in the pics. I only have one of her going in this box.
..and thank goodness because she is really stretching on me (even more so than it looks photos...due to the angle i suppose?)
Probably going to have to train her somehow..

Hey Kish, im definitely psyched on this grow, and its nice to find someone with an actual grow/smoke report on White Skunk. I just ordered a pack myself because i couldnt resist the amazing deal (they cost me 18$ US). I guess it turns out that they're pretty decent afterall.
Keep it up man, ill be following this one

So, remember how i said that i got 4 girls out of this pack?
Well, here is girl number four @ 45 days flower.
She was gifted to a friend early on and I must say that he did a marvelous job with her.
Very crystalline with rich colors. Can't wait to experience some of the smoke.
Unfortunately, this is it...no cuttings of her.
Out of the four girls we thought that this one was the lowest yielder (could be wrong...we'll see). But ain't she pretty?
She will be getting the chop tomorrow i believe..

Ps. i realize updates like this one deviate from the thread a bit since this girl wasn't grown in my box. But i hope that you all enjoy the comparison nonetheless! Remember, she did come from the same seed pack..

Roots, Roots, Roots!

Roots, Roots, Roots!

After 11 days or so, WS#3 has shown her first roots, with pheno#2 right behind her.
Its no surprise that pheno#3 was the first to show her legs...She is a very healthy/vigorous girl!

She'd make a great mother..

Ps
. The rooting time seems to be cut in half from what I used to average.
I am using Rootech gel for the first time instead of hardware store cloning powder...could have something to do with it.
Or, I could just be getting a bit more experienced from hanging out around here..who knows?

Inside the box

Inside the box

Okay, so i tried to take some interesting pics..a little tricky but i managed to get the lens in there.
I raised one side of the box at a time, just to lens height, and took the following pics.

I must have used two different settings on my cam..
Because I can really see the color of the 2700k spectrum in the first couple of pics.

The pics below show how i had to train pheno#2 away from the light. LST via paperclips.
Those 42watters get warm enough to burn these girls fast!

Re51n8, thanks for chiming in. Can you tell us anything more about the Double Gum?
After having such good luck with white label..I'd love to try their take on bubblegum.

as far as my pheno goes, the DG is much stockier n stout than my sk#1. it is very sweet smelling kinda fruity, but so are my sk#1's. I prefer the sk#1 for mornings since it's like a nice cup of java; gets me awake, alert, n blitzed! flowering times for both my sk#1 and DG are pretty even, i usually chop em down at day 60. my sk#1 moms like to foxtail, while the DG focuses on a big lump of bud a top, lol. you wont be dissapointed with their gum tho!
