Which is it for you, Sativa or Indica?

Hey Gobwats, I'm in N. KY too. Grew up in Ohio in a northern suburb of Cincy but ended up moving "south of the border" as I call it. I've got a great night time view of the city from my living room and the people just seem a little friendlier down here. I've gotten used to the KY jokes and my girlfriend and I will often tell people that we are half-brother and sister while we lay a big smootch on each other. Can be a lot of fun in bars, especially talking to out-of-towners! Anyway, just wanted to say hey!

Good to meet you Chillyhead, I'm over in Burlington. I was born in AL, plus went to school and came back to teach there, so I was already used to the backwoods humor long before moving up this way. I love the area if for no other reason than meeting my current pain docs who are actually doing something besides medicating me with opiates. We'll have to hook up and burn a bowl sometime if the weather every turns nice again (I hate fucking cold!)

Back on topic, my last grow is dried and now curing so of course I have been sampling it (it beats anything I have bought in a long damn time hands down!) It was my last hippie grow (using bag seed) so all I know is the plant starts life looking very Indica dominant, but picks up Sativa traits as it develops its buds (actually the last grow was seed from the previous grow after Herman paid a visit, but they everyone looked and smoked exactly like the mom I took the seed from. The high is great, I get that very euphoric Indica high that soothes my pain quite nicely plus enough Sativa kick that I feel like getting up and actually doing something. I know it has some White Widow somewhere in it's lineage, and the red hairs are unbelievable, so the seed are now labeled Red Headed Stranger (from Bluegrass, KY); talked to my breeder bud about it and I think he is going to grow some to see if he can determine better their make-up. All I know is I love it and just hope it lasts me until the Blueberry, God Bud, and Purple Wreck I have growing now get harvested.

I prefer sativas for recreational use. I have chronic pain and for that I need indicas.

Sativa was all that was around in the 70's in SoCal when I started smoking. I much prefer the buzz. You can get things done around the house. I agree that Indicas seem better for migraines & other pains.

indica for the pain and sleep sativa during the day to stay motivated

both indica and sativas have a place in my heart...i lean towards more indica type strains most of the time. i like 75%indica 25%sativa strains or sumthing close to that %

for a daytime smoke, at work or sumthin: pure sativas, maybe landrace strains, rushy, not too sedative (lambsbread, celestial temple sativa)

for an evening: balanced hybrids

for the night cap, painkillaz,...: pure indicas or mostly indica hybrids

of course, it happens that i smoke pure indicas on a lazy morning, but it's hardcore to start your day i reckon

All around, I love Sativa hands down. However I am also a chronic pain sufferer, and I smoke heavy Indicas or hash before I go to bed or I have a hard time staying asleep.

if its just a toke then its indicas.
