What's new

Which is it for you, Sativa or Indica?

Yes, the age-old (and face it, most of you are rather decrepit and degenerative - while I retain youth, vigor and bashfulness) question, which one does it for you?

I used to always say Indica because I'm a chronic pain patient and everyone says those are the winners in the pain derby, but lately I have found a surprising sativa that is my new "holiest of holies".

What's yours?

I'm a chronic pain medicator myself, so I prefer Indica dominants. What is this grand Sativa you speak of? those in pain would love to test it as well. I love the Sativa high, but have yet to find one that will control my RSD pain effectively.

I got a cross from a dope fiend a few years ago - back when OG was still up. I was on a very public crusade for the silver bullet to manage my chronic pain condition caused by migraine headaches. He sent me some seeds and a sample to try.

He warned me that it was really strong and that certainly proved to be the case - the strongest pot I had ever smoked in all my 47 years of being on this dusty little orb...

According to him (and his memory of events is not a reliable source of information, as is mine) the cross was the original Serious Seeds AK-47 F-1 by Romulan (the Federation Seeds F-1) by White Rhino (Green House Seeds F-1), so he was working with all good stuff. :2cents:

The resulting plant produces a stupefying smoke that retains the one-hit power that I am assuming is provided by the AK, but has the highest level of pain management efficacy I have encountered in the six years I have been a medical patient.

Context is necessary here. In the six years that I have been a patient, I have only smoked a couple dozen different varieties, but have managed to go about eliminating a whole bunch of potential candidates based upon their lineage and my experience with that lineage, so my work is not a guarantee, but after all the fodder all on pain management that I (and others) have been through I thought it would rate a report at least.

I call this strain Russian Roulette and I posted a grow and smoke report regarding this strain on this site.

The only available seeds are feminized ones and I will be getting them out to people who will really do something with them (and who have very safe safe addys because even though I registered a long time ago here, I am relatively new here having only "found" the site a month or so ago - so trust will be an issue for my fellow growers and they should treat me like the security risk that I am).

:off2: By the by... I see you are from Kentucky. I always wanted to ask this question when I met someone who actually admitted they lived in Kentucky.

If a man and woman are married in Kentucky are they still considered to be brother and sister in most states?

I've only lived here for 4 years bro, but from what I'm told they're still considered bro&sis at all family functions as well, lol. And before anyone asks, I have yet to find the elusive blue grass I hear so much about that is supposedly growing everywhere here, :joint:

Thanks for the Sativa info, may PM you for some more info later on. I was thinking you might have stumbled across some of the older Hawaiian strains (I recall one from the mid 70's that one toke would have you stoned off your ass, and those who dared toke twice always fell to the floor.) My current grow (actually stabilized seed produced from bag seed-Herman sneaked into the last grow) starts off looking Indica dominant but changes to more of a Sativa dom when it flowers. The smoke from the mother crop was excellent even with the seed, so I'm hoping for good things with this one; shame I have no clue what's in it.

Next grow is already started, going with Blueberry, God Bud, and Purple Wreck. This will be my first non-hippie grow (been using bag seed my whole life, just could not see paying as much for a handful of seed as an oz of decent weed) as a seed growing friend up north sent me some of his strains to try. So now I'm doing pretty much what you have been doing the past 6 years, seeing what strains work best for my RSD pain. Right now have 9 strains to grow and try, plus more coming. Still, would love to plant a seed or 2 from the Russian Roulette to see how well it works for my pain.

Indicas are ok, but I love the sativas. Day or night, they are great.

I don't know about Kentucky, but the Alabama girl said after sex, "Roll over Daddy, you're on my cigarettes."

Dawg I'd try mixing your ideal pain relief strain and a sativa in one bowl.

I haven't had much good weed, probably nothing very sativa, but from what I've tried I'd say both sativa and indica are the best for different reasons. I say unless one is better for you on the medical tip there isn't a better one.

And yah I just realized I'm not old sorry I'ma crash here anyway.

So that's what that was all about...I am originally from AL, attended and taught at UA, and love those Bama gals:woohoo:

I have considered doing just that, just have to find that magical Sativa mentioned earlier and give it a try. To be honest, if it would control the pain to where I can walk and sleep I would probably smoke yard clippings, cow shit, or anything else reported to have these qualities. From what I've tried thus far, the Indica dominants seem to do more for the RSD pain (think really screwed up nerves that tell your body you're in great pain when there is no organic cause for the pain other than the nerves going haywire.) Up til now all of my grows have been hippie grows (using bag seed and guessing what it is once you see the plant) but all future grows will be the fancy hybrids I have heard so much about. I'm working with the guy who is sending me seed to let him knows what works and what doesn't, with the hopes of developing a strain that will have it all. It heps me with my pain while helping him to expand his line and target more companies to sell through, a true win-win situation brought courtesy of Karma.

Now that was fucking funny...

But you already knew that. Can't wait to see my friend from Alabama! Oh and my son! One of my kids went to Alabama. Oh man, I gotta' light his ass up. PITA...

For about the first decade of my pot smoking, there was no indica to be had.

There is nothing better than a great Sativa-Indica hybrid for trippy fun time.
