I narrowed down my choices to 2 bikes:

1.

Yamaha super tenere. 1200 cc, all terrain, super robust build...

or

2.

Honda Fireblade 1000cc, one of the best reasonably priced sports bike around, beautiful to behold

Both bikes cost the same and about same power.

So which one is a cooler bike? :dance013:

in my opinion, if you can afford it,
take them both, but if you have to decide
and you cant do the decision,
find something new :)

Ride each one for an hour and take temp readings.

I run on functionality... not how cool something 'looks'. LOL

what do you want from a bike?

if you want a very bad back then go for the fireblade

if you want comfort and a good all-rounder then go for the tenere.

i used to have an africa twin and went touring round france with a guy on a sports bike. by the end of a day's riding he was in agony. my AT, with all the luggage strapped to the seat etc felt like an armchair.

it depends, what is the bike for? if you are a speed freak the fireblade(be warned this bike is unrealiable in wet conditions wiring problems) and the other looks a very heavy leg breaker off roader .suit the sandy roads of florida or other desert like places!

I really want a bike, but there was a news segment the other night on a guy who was killed. His head was crushed in a motorcycle accident and he was wearing a helmet. I like the idea of the freedom, but...

2 completely different bikes. It depends on what type of riding you plan to do. You want to rip up the local track and your neighborhood go with the honda. If you want to... go with the honda.

i was planing a trip to india over europe..
i guess plan A would certainly do the trick..

if its for the city to do quick and stylish leaps
i´d certainly take the slick honda

if you can afford it :) take them both seriously :D

well, I've never seen the Super Tenere in a race before, but I've seen Casey Stoner win the Championship on a Repsol Honda similar to the Fireblade

maybe one should also recall, that once you bought a bike
nobody can stop you on selling it again when your ideas change
i am researching bikes form time to time, but i got still way to go
till i do som tripping... till then i would mind having the honda either

Both very nice. the first on/off roadable.. the second a road rod. both very powerful and fast. Smoke a bone, buy a Harley and and cruise. No future in going that kinda fast.... on a motorcycle. But I do understand the lure of 'fast'. GL either way keep the shiny side up..:tiphat:

Get the sport bike for the street and a dirt bike for off road. I just don't see the appeal of taking a heavy bike off road. But then, I like to go fast.

Some people dont. To each his own.
