Where to stay on first time vacation to Colorado with wife?

We are looking to rent an airbnb to stay in for about 4 days to escape the monotony of being new parents. We have an 8 month old baby girl and wanted to schedule a trip to Colorado where we could enjoy some herb shops, as well as enjoy the great outdoors and other things out there around June or July when the weather is nice to hit a beach or lake or something cool.

I've stopped growing pot since meeting my current wife (years ago) because she is extremely scared of getting caught, pretty much in a nutshell. Little does she understand what skilled of a grower she has under her wraps. Skilled in privacy as well as growing. She's been a life long pot smoker though as she suffers from ADHD and it seriously helps her calm TF down.

We live in a state where the laws aren't on our side, and she is quite the law abiding citizen. I think taking her on a trip to Colorado could really open her eyes and help me talk her into letting me start up a grow. We could really use a nice chunk of homegrown meds ...

I think it would be great to stay in an AIR bnb house that is somewhat off the beaten bath, but not too far from the cool stuff in colorado. I don't plan on visiting every weed related thing while there but I do want to see what's going on there. I know denver is a hot spot, but I am not too sure there are too many cool things to do in denver.

We are in our 30's.

Go to Steamboat Springs! You won't regret it..

Small town that you can walk from one end to the other,
but with plenty of stuff to do...Restaurants, clubs, rec and edibles..

You won't have that big city shit to deal with, and can do some outdoorsy stuff 15 minutes away.
Fresh air! You'll love it...

Colorado's a big open place.
If you're into city life type things to do there's no need to remove yourself beyond the I25 corridor.

If you prefer being amongst nature, CO has plenty to offer all over the state.

I have to agree with bud green and who dat is , I live just over an hour away from steamboat. Its the town that made me want to move to colorado some 24 years ago. Strawberry springs is a must. I drive the hour plus just to go there, although they did make some crazy changes to it this fall. went there in september after my wedding. Check out Natural choice dispensary, just outside of town. A good friend of mine owns it.

There are also a couple of really cool lakes very close to steamboat, I own a boat and hit them frequently, can be really nice that time of year, pretty chilly water though, usually around 67 degree water temp around that time of year. Killer camping in that area too

Steamboat Springs is definitely a good suggestion,I moved here from Colorado Springs about 15 years ago.Also a very cool town about 6500 ft up.Its mid sized but there is some cool things very close by.Garden of the Gods was a mile from my apartment.Its on the front range so Pikes Peak is right there.If you want to go to the coolest town in the state IMO you have to hit Cripple Creek for some buffalo burgers and a little casino action.It is way up there in the hills.If you go on Pikes Peak above the treeline,take a Frisbee with you.Ever throw a Frisbee a half mile?Its a trip.I don't know much about the dispensary action but Colo Springs is so liberal and has everything,big and small

The Hanging Lake down by Glenwood Springs is pretty cool in the summer months.
There's a bunch of hiking trails around the state, too...like, tons.
I live right near Steamboat Springs, too, in the Yampa Valley..there's some great hiking trails around here as well. Mad Creek is a decent trail and there's some others in the area as well. Very pretty in the summer.

Glenwood Springs, Pagosa Springs, Steamboat Springs, Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs, Hot Sulphur Springs

Those are just the names of town off the top of my head too, nevermind listing just hotsprings themselves

Haha we have a Sulphur springs down here in Tampa,its really the only projects in the area just a tad different than the one in Colorado!I liked Colorado but it was always just too cold and snowy.Down here we get 6 weeks of winter,in Colorado we got 6 weeks of summer.If you like that kind of weather its really the place to be,especially now that you can legally grow 6 plants.I know a lot of folks would disagree,but that's a whole lot for personal use I believe.Unless you are a stoned giant!

Anywhere close to the beach.... Lol, Colorado has to be one of the least appealing states to me.

Legal weed is great and all but I'd rather party in Daytona Beach like an Outlaw.

Are you and the lady looking for outdoor activities are a party weekend in the city?
In Denver check out LoDo its a laid back area with a bunch of good beer joints and clubs at night, music etc. Fort Collins is worth a drive up to.

Not to take away from the OP but I would like to move to Colorado to retire.

Problem is, I am a warm weather person and at 65 years old, I have had enough snow to last forever (originally from Ohio).

Is there any place in Colorado that does not get snow and Winter weather?

I have friends in Steamboat Springs and they swear there's no better place in the world. I have been to Colo a few times and I must say, it's about the most beautiful state in the country.
