Where are you all getting your refills?I swear I think colker janitorial is switching labels on the carts, either that or they just dont last for shit. This will be the third time a 120 cart barely gets me through a 50 day flower,I'm not even on day 40 yet and had to turn it up to 9 this morning.O)ther than that I'm very satisfied, the things a charm

I put my new cartridge in on Mar 8th,in an 8 by 8 room fulla flowering plants and this morning I had to turn it up to 10!!Thats not right, its even worse than the first couple refills.I swear I like the way it works, but this isnt right.Could colker be ripping me off?Rez mentioned some places seel used carts or might change labels,I think I found one pl;ace,Colker janitorial.

i've read other users claiming the same results (e.g. cartridge doesnt last as long as it claims), so i dont think its just you. Personally, I'd be nervous depending on one of those as my only source of odor control

As far as controlling the odor of flowering plants when its working you cant smell anything through the door,in the living room,or definately out in the front yard.It works well for me,just not nearly as long as advertized

Somethings wrong with my machine, has to be..

I don't think anything is wrong with your machine or your cartridges. I used the 4000 with the high-output cartridges and it did not work. It's not shady labeling or reselling used cartridges, It's just that the 4000 is not capable by it's self. It did not work for me. Even in a sealed room, odor was still trickling out. I payed the $400 bucks for carbon, and now the 4000 is in a closet collecting dust.

I paid $140.00 for the 4000 and $59.99x3 for the high-output cartridges. total was $350.00. For 50 bucks more I have a real nice 256CFM Fantech, and a mountain air scrubber. Guess what? No smell period. People, spend the extra cash for your security. I wasted almost $400 bucks on that piece of shit machine that did not work. for a little more cash I'm using carbon and noone can deny that carbon works. Not even my neighbors.

I suggest you find the other Vaportek thread and post your experience there. Be careful though REZDOG might troll you.

If you call them (Vaportek) with a convincing justification for using the carts, they will let you order factory direct.

It's what I do, for my "Animal Shelter"

Do they sell a small scrubber for a sealed room with the fan motor and everything in one unit?Is there such a thing or do you need to get a fan motor seperate?I think you're right. It worked pretty well my first grow with much smaller plants even though the cartridges didnt last long, now I'm flowering leaning 4 footers like a dumbass and the machine cant seem to handle it.When I replaced my 120 cart after about 40 days,I noticed it was almost white on the inside, not brown like the first one that lasted about 70 days.I need a scrubber and no nothing about them, never thought I'd use one so never paid attention!Someone please point me in the direction where I can purchase the whole unit?I understand from talking with someone in PM's the can 50 and 75 are just that, cans with no fan motors?WTF good is that lol?

Thanks man,my plants put a whoopin on Rez's optimum 4000 this grow dont you know, glad I live where I do with the neighbors I have!I'm not straight on that cubic ft/fan size explanation for sizing the units. My room is 850 cu ft.Do you think the 100 would be overkill? Its not the money sandman its the room, the smaller the unit the more plants I can get in there

A Can75 oughtta do the job, but I always try to give a little overkill factor for safety :D

Why don't you just hang the scrubber from the ceiling? That'd let you keep the same number of plants...

Hang the scrubber from the ceiling..I just looked it may work.Try and picture a room just 6 inches over 8 ft.cubed, door swings open to the left and to the right are two 1K 4 ft vertizontals, the third vertizontal is on the left in the center of the room. That gives me behind or in front of the left vertizontal, should hang nicely in the back left hand corner of the room. Thanks for the idea MTF

I cant find a can 75 combo, even on google. This shits confusing me not one site gives you a straightforward explanation of how to size them in cubic ft or sq ft.You've got the 50 75 and 100,then you've got the 60 combo with 8 inch flange. This unit will be freehanging, just recirculating air not hooked to any lights or anything,is flange size important?Help me out here room size is 64 sq. ft. 850 cubic ft,which should I get and where?I turned my vaportek to five and it seems to be OK,kinda a disappointment now though.Probably be OK flowering smaller plants

The size of the fan is all that really matters for determining the scrubber. For your setup you might be able to get away with a 66 (or even a 50 for that matter), but I'm not a fan of "getting by" with something that could be marginal in it's effectiveness - although they'd probably be plenty. If you're gonna drop the money for one, you might as well spend an extra $30 and get something that gives you a little overkill factor to make sure there's never any odor problems.

Here's a couple links to Can 75 combos I found with google :D

http://www.hhydro.com/cgi-bin/hhydro/XHH0619.html

http://www.kalyx.com/store/proddetail.cfm/ItemID/548217/CategoryID/12000/SubCatID/2745/file.htm

It really doesn't matter if it's already packaged as a combo or if you get the fan/scrubber seperate as long as the flange is the same size as the fan you're gonna use (it's just the adapter that connects the ducting to the scrubber). So if you can find a Can75 (and 8" flange) at your favorite shop, snag it and find a 8" fan from them and you're set.

Thanks man I'll order from kalyx tomorrow,it's complete right I should be able to hang it as is?Flanges smanges fans and all?I've never used/seen one of these gismos before.

Yeah, it sounds complete to me.

You might have to get a little creative to hang it, but it's not too tough. I use a couple of bicycle hooks and some metal plumbers strapping to suspend mine from the ceiling (make sure you stick the hooks in rafters!). Just stick a bolt/nut through the holes in the strapping to hold the ends together and hang the loops of metal on the hooks. Slide the scrubber in the loops and plug it into your timer (if you want to use one) and your done.

Holy crap, the 500 cfm fan is a little overkill is it not for that size of area.
I personnally have both, I just bought the vaportek wall unit it's to assist the scrubber and I thought it will help when I add co2 as the fan will only come on when the heat gets to high( I don't want to be sucking co2 out of the room all the time).

He's running 3k in a 8x8....I don't really think it's overkill - it just leaves him a safety margin so he won't have to worry about odor any time soon.

I know you like your vertizontals bob, but if you ever decide to go with air cooled hoods, you can use that fan to blow cool air through the hoods...it'll letcha keep the lights a little closer while maintaining a more even canopy temp :D
