Where should I move??

So, I'm finally ready to make the move & do things proper (med/legal state)....but I'm not exactly sure where to go!? Maybe u guys can help me out, here's what I'm looking for:

1) Warm climate for the most part (9+ months per yr)
2) Beach within an hour drive
3) A med or legal state where I can run large numbers (50-100 plants or 250+ sq ft)
4) Legal to own dispensaries (available also for new residents)

Please be specific with your recommendations....(i.e. Give the name of a city or county, not just the state!)

:thank you:

you act like there are so many med states with warm weather that's within an hours drive to the beach.

Most med states I know of are already flooded with opportunists.

Maybe set up in one that's about to pass legislation and get ahead of the wave?

Looking at your list I don't think one exists that fits all criteria but I'm not hip to Hawaii's medical laws.

Wherever you set up don't expect a warm welcome if you express your intent to anyone.

I think most people feel some state pride when a random grower matriculates into their business.

Thanks for the replies guys! Heaven does sound good OB, but I think I'll make that my final destination. I have looked into Hawaii, it's def a contender. Is anyone familiar with cities/counties in So Cal?....Mean Mustard, I hear you & thx for the heads up!

Michigan, and Maine come to mind, but they don't have the weather. Seems as though you have missed the boat. Fuck the weather. Are you wanting to grow for real, or fucking swim? I would much rather grow than swim. Maybe you can move to Michigan and afford an indoor pool. :)

Hawaii is the one that fits the bill you've mentioned, but I've never actually been there. Good luck with your search!

No dispensaries in Hawai'i, at least, not that I was able to find when I was trying to help my ex-daughter-in-law out.

I feel compelled to recommend against relying on NORML for anything law-related. They do not ensure their information is timely or accurate.

lol i chuckle when i come into threads like this should i move to a medical state IMO if you want to move move but lets get a few things straight here which medical mj states forget to mention and so many growers State law means nothing absolutely nothing
Federal law means everything and thats the bottom line and until mj gets off the schedule substance, doesn;t matter where you grow its illegal end of story
if you think your so legit i dare you to call DEA give them a heads up your growing a schedule substance and watch your state police watch from the side lines as they arrest you.
All this s h it is really is to make you all think were allowing it hog wash really is what it is
A doctor doesn;t prescribe you MJ as its illegal they call them recomendations or refferals you ever wonder why

At the federal level, marijuana remains classified as a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act, where Schedule I substances are considered to have a high potential for dependency and no accepted medical use, making distribution of marijuana a federal offense. In October of 2009, the Obama Administration sent a memo to federal prosecutors encouraging them not to prosecute people who distribute marijuana for medical purposes in accordance with state law.
Arizona and the District of Columbia voters passed initiatives to allow for medical use, only to have them overturned. In 1998, voters in the District of Columbia passed Initiative 59. However, Congress blocked the initiative from becoming law. In 2009, Congress reversed its previous decision, allowing the initiative to become law. The D.C. Council then put Initiative 59 on hold temporarily and unanimously approved modifications to the law. Once the mayor signs the bill, Congress will have 30 legislative days to review it.
Before passing Proposition 203 in 2010, Arizona voters originally passed a ballot initiative in 1996. However, the initiative stated that doctors would be allowed to write a "prescription" for marijuana. Since marijuana is still a Schedule I substance, federal law prohibits its prescription, making the initiative invalid. Medical marijuana "prescriptions" are more often called "recommendations" or "referrals" because of the federal prescription prohibition.

Sea Maiden is correct...

No dispensaries in Hawaii...Gotta grow your own.

You may remove it from your list.

10:45 Head over to watch the surf contest every Saturday at the Steamer's Lane

11:45 Go grab a mega sized pork burrito at one of about 10 EXCELLENT mexican and cheap restaurants....about $6.00

12:35 Head over and meet another patient, get him his meds

3:30 Get some groceries...I FUCKING bag....$65.00

All of that sounds pretty much identical to my bills here in NC, though you have a higher mortgage than I do. But there are plenty of people around here who do pay that price range. I can easily spend $50-$60 on a bag of groceries. My water bill is only $30/month, but I'm only one person. The rest of it pretty much tracks, including $6 for a cheap lunch. In the city near me you won't get anything for less than $10.

Also, my day has a lot less hanging out, my work sucks more than dropping off weed to college students, and I'm not sure, but I think you probably have a more scenic view.

Also, we pay $65 for mid-grade 1/8 and have to drive half an hour each way to get it. If they catch you growing here it's a felony and they take your house.

Just saying.

Thx Alien, So Cal does sound promising....but I know it's not exactly as mmj friendly as Norcal! Are there any specific areas u would recommend or areas that are a no-go?

Megayields I hear you, the grass is not always greener on the other side....pun intended! But, I have to agree with Dreamsoftesla on this one. Some states' laws r so f'ed up it almost leaves no choice.

Thx to everyone for your suggestions, even OrganicO who suggested Main or Michigan for warm weather & beach....keep um coming! :tiphat:

IMO Nor Cal is no longer the green heaven it was just 3-5 years ago. Hell 2 Years ago..

Way to many hardcore multi 1000s plants grower done tore the triangle up.
Cities are fighting back with more LEO, choppering in and chopping ya down.
New law's (if u use 3x the average electricity-you pay a much higher rate)
Lots of cities using this new approach.

Then there are the ones that put all in and lost...
Lots of broke people wanting to partner up and screw ya.

Trim jobs would get ya $100-300 a pound trimmed. 2 years ago.
Now... 1 oz of nugs is what you'll get offered..lol
Pounds of nice smoke go as little as $800.

There's just lots of sad news coming from up north.

NOT hating Nor cal at all here. California is golden period. ..

Just saying. . If I were coming. .. I'd go south...

Where depends on how much $ ya what life to cost u.
Are u chill or a prick..
Chill-Huntington Beach or any beach city.
Pricks like Irvine - Anaheim hills More inland.

Cheap... Riverside or Inland Empire -

Ya want space to grow outside and indoor - low key..try Azusa or Diamond Bar.

Need a little of everything.. Just outside of San Diego..

Ya want to go buy Meds instead of weed..lol. dispensary- The LA/OC citys are golden..

Best bet ta get a clue...

Orange county - LA - I.E. county Craigslist ... Search. Clones-mmj-420-grow...
then search for housing prices-rents.
Weedmaps will show u maps of where the meds are.

As for cost of living in California. . I have friends in IL. & northern States that pay like $800-$1500 a month on heating gas for the house alone. Sure the rent is half of Californias.

I tell them I would rather pay $1500 for a rent on a house I dont need to ever heat...lol

Good luck on your journey bro. Land safe & stay high..
