Where do Nirvana seeds's seeds come from?

Not trying to jack the thread but what is up with some of their strains and flowering time? I keep seeing how some plants that are supposed to be 8-9 weeks flowering go for 12+ weeks. I saw a rumour about how they crossed most of their strains with a skunk haze, true or not those long flowering times are odd.

I know they used to be pretty good, but apparently they have dropped almost all of the regular seed lines and their fems really ain't as cheap. I'm sure they are still selling decent hacks, but I'd rather have some of their old school genetics.

I've got a jar of Nirvana free "mystery seeds" from a few years back. The only plant I've finished from that collection was some crazy old-school looking sativa that could have come from a 1979 High Times. Unfortunately I had root issues in flower that affected harvest so the bud was subpar.
This winter some tent space will be put aside for some Nirvana treasure hunting. Anything I should be looking out for from around 4-5 years ago?

I've heard a few people ask Nirvana to bring back Citral.

I did some of their auto NL outdoors last summer, pretty good stuff. Easy grower and hardy, decent yield and a fairly potent and mellow stone. Low odor plant which was one reason I chose it. Not mind blowing or “elite” but just some nice decent herb

I do buy that they made their own knock-offs though, such as Jock Horror (which by a lot of accounts, was awesome when the right plant was found)

when we started out we bought a bunch of nivana's offering- white widow/white rhino/ice/ak48/and some others ...BUT the pack of jock horror had a pheno that was ass-kickin... it was...and still is the best weed we ever grew... BUT... being old and stupid we didnt take any cuttings... and after going thru 2+packs and buying a pack of jack herer (what a waste of $$$) we never found that pheno again - still have 1/2+ pack of jock from 15yrs ago... lack of room always stops us from running that 1/2 pack... maybe one day

I remember reading an interview with Mau, the founder of Nirvana seeds, many years ago. I now tried to google this interview, but couldn't find it. He sold the company about 2009 and after them selling the left seeds it's different seeds altogether, most probably bought from Spain.
What I remember from the interview is that he got the basic "ingredients" (seeds and clones) for their first strains (before White Widow era) while working at the legendary Positronics shop. Original Haze (including the Haze #19 clone), NL, Afghan #1, Durban, Skunk, Big Bud, etc. They mostly made and sold F1s of these, not F2s of others' hybrids.
NLHaze was their NL crossed to their Haze, not F2,
Jock Horror was NL / (Haze / Skunk), not F2 of Jack,
Pure Power Plant was Durban / Afghan, not F2 of Power Plant,
etc.

Interesting. Also means ah never did grow any of the original stock as ah don't think ah picked up Nirvana beans til around 2015. Recently got some Hawaiian Maui-wowie regs an am pretty sure they're not much different from the original. There's a thread on here where someone found an extreme sativa pheno in 2018 from a pack bought in 2017 - that's what sold me on them an that's the plant am looking for.

I don't want to disrespect anyone, but I don't believe much in Mau's words, he told me the same about nl x haze, or the Jamaican in haze ...
Nirvana was born using the genetics of Positronics, and it is well known that it made f2 (or more) of many famous strains ... Nl x haze, or white widow, or northern lights have remained more or less the same, but if you compare the your original haze with the current version you see that they too have done some trouble ....
In general, however, they have good quality...

they have these short vids for a few strains where they interview the original breeder, blue dream is one of them https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xsTfi029PUc

That video has got to be complete bullshit! It makes me sick when I see people trying to cash in on names with fake stories of cropping fake “strands” every 8 weeks!

As far as Nirvana goes... the skunk male is the story I always heard. Glad I still have 10 year old packs knowing their are new owners. Crazy to look back at the prohibition days as the glory days.

Do it because you love it boys!

Mau has retired to Thailand - quite a few years ago - and sold Nirvana seeds on to someone else - who I don't really know -

I'm still in touch with him - 'cos we have always been buddies - back in the day Nirvana seeds were the best bang for your buck - $15 a pack of 10 - and I moved more of Mau's seeds than any other seed company/breeders seeds -

Mau made some of his own stock - but much of it was made by growers/breeders primarily in Canada.

Today - I'm not sure how they operate - since I don't know the guys he sold Nirvana Seeds to.

Hello Gypsy, first proper post here (I'm one of those skulky types).

I've been doing a bit of buying lately and one of my purchases was a pack of Nirvana Seeds old stock, I am trying to find concrete information and wondered if you could drop Mau a line and clear it up for me?

The seeds in question are AMNESIA REGULAR, some websites confuse the description with the Amnesia Haze line that's still on the market and some claim they are two different lineages...

One is listed as a Jack Herer cross and the other claims it is Original Haze x Northern Lights, I think the latter is most probably correct I just wanted to know for sure or as sure as I could be, while I do ultimately judge a plant by it's end product I would like to know it's lineage and/or origins.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
