Where (cannabis friendly) should I move in 2008?

My wife and I are sitting here smoking a doobie and contemplating where in the world we need to move this year. We are both medical (mental health) cannabis users and would like to start growing commercially for other patients. We have a couple of young children that haven't started school yet. (Don't want to get too specific.) Right now we're living in the Bible Belt, USA, with no prospect of having the government respect our rights to medical cannabis anytime soon.

After reading Humboldt Grow we are considering a move to either Northern California, Humboldt, Trinity, and Mendocino area. We have also thought about moving up to New Hampshire because of the Libertarian population up there. Politically we're anarcho-capitalists. There's no protection on medical cannabis right now in NH, but I believe it will be there soon.

We don't have a lot of money to make a move right now, but I'm a college graduate and could find work easily in my field just about anywhere. I think growing is the ultimate home business, but I don't want to participate in a black market for the safety of my family.

Any suggestions? Is there any place I'm overlooking?

Ugh, Anacho-capitalists?

man, you're on the right path but you need to read max stirner. the founder of individual anarchism. start with the ego and his own.

Move away from people and grow your own.

If you're the only person and you like weed.... well then its a weed friendly spot.

I sense this could be a thread essentially asking, but not directly: "Where are you located?"

Being you have 18 posts to your name at this point and a pretty good skill with embedding script in your text, you're no stranger to forums or computers. You might also be no stranger to GPS location systems tied with the DEA. So I'll answer as follows....

Move anywhere you damn well please. I won't tell you where I live and the situation around me. You might move here by chance, but you won't find it any easier living here than where you presently are. Why?

No one trusts a "newby". No matter the blood on your hands, only a fool would tell. You're educated... you know exactly what I'm talking about. Good luck in your decision either way. Time will pass as always.

hey man if this is any indication im in cali and want to move to Oregon. if your growing your own and legally for others i think that would be the best state to raise a family it is simply beautiful there. great place for a child to grow up. trees older than our nation, fresh air, relax MMJ laws.

Yeah, I haven't even thought about Oregon. I lived in Seattle a few years ago. The Pacific Northwest is awesome.

Please, I don't want to know were anyone lives. I think people have better sense than to mention that here. I won't even mention the state I'm in. I am in the deep south and there are no cannabis friendly places out here.

Does anyone know where the activist movement in Colorado is? Is there a Humboldt/Mendo type area there? I know Keene is the liberty center of the liberty movement in NH.

An anarcho-capitalist is a person who believes that the free market does a far better, more efficient, and more fair mechanism to regulate human behavior than does government. I believe in an incremental effort to dismantle government control, hence my support for Ron Paul.

I don't typically give capitalists the time of day. They are typically selfish, greedy and do not care for those who are in need. Just their wallet and what is in it.

That being said - Oregon is great!

Oregon sound nice. I'll start researching. I lived in the pac/northwest before. I've been through Portland several times. I've seen Crater Lake, it's freaking awesome.

When most people say they hate capitalist, they're actually thinking of "merchantilist." We have the remnants of a mercantilist economy in the US. It's a managed economy similar to fascism, were the governments and the corporations rule the people. In a capitalist society everything is voluntary. Nothing is coerced by force. There is nothing altruistic about taking money from one person and giving it to another. True altruism is found in the voluntary charity of one man to another. I try to devote a full tenth of my income to charity. What I don't like is the government taking another 30-40% by the threat of prison if I don't comply. A government that has that power also has the power to keep you from possessing weed.

Anarcho-Capitalism? That sounds like a oxymoron. Watch the documentary "the Corporation" and you will see that there is nothing good in capitalism. If your against big Gov. then you should also be against big business. They are practially the same thing. It should be fair trade not free trade! Go ask some 3rd world country who is in debt to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and being raped of its national resources to pay back their insurmountable debt if "the free market does a far better, more efficient, and more fair mechanism to regulate human behavior than does government" and they will tell you a big NO. Read "the Wealth of Nations" and you can see the idea of capitalism born and its true ideals which is profits before everything and to let the rich get richer without Gov. interfering. Excuse the diatribe.

again, read Max Stirner. its all about individual anarchism, which means individual conscience and the pursuit of self-interest should not be constrained by any collective body or public authority.
