when to stop watering

Hi People,

I have 5 autos of different types. the super skunk is furtherest into flower. they are all germinated on june 1st. Question is how do i know when to stop feeding and watering? do I go by the adverts? does a lack of sunny days slow down the harvest time?

My first grow and these autos are great.

When you feed and see little new bloom from it, stop feeding. Usually I would stop base nutes at that point, and start pumping up aromatics with sugars, etc. When you see the calyxes swell noticeably, start your flush.

I never stop watering. You could cut back, but don't let them wilt. I read a study that water deprevation does not increase resin production, but low humidity does. Good luck. -granger

Thanks for info people. i still don't know when 'the two weeks before harvest is'? so I can flush? do I let them grow until the tricomes look ready and then flush or what? I appreciate the info, lads

if you keep tabs on the trichs, you should be able to get a sense of how fast they are maturing.

add that to the known flower time of your plant and you have a pretty good estimate.

Getting a decent picture of the plants and posting it here would tell you quite quickly at what stage you are.
A picture of the whole plant and a closeup picture for each plant would be best.

Judging by trichome color is not that accurate, there are quite a few more things to consider.

Do you mean to stop feeding nuets when plant starts to flower? Cheers

sorry the fotos were taken today all the time: STML
Super skunk is the one with gray wire, made 90 degree bend two days ago. Three others are Jack 47 (topped two weeks nearly)

I like to harvest when the buds look ripe. If they have all white hairs then they aren't ripe. If they have mostly red hairs with new fresh white hairs here and there then they look ripe to me and I harvest. Dried flowers with lots of white hairs on it just looks like it was harvested prematurely to me, kinda like harvesting a pinkish white strawberry or reddish green tomato.

We generally lose dose bloom feed until the last two weeks, then water only to flush out nutrients. If you are growing Vision Seeds Super Skunk...it takes more than the 56 days it claims...and if you haven't had abundant sunshine, it will mature a little slower. My guess, 10 days more. Quite a few commercial breeders claim fast harvest....like 60 days from seed to harvest. Use that as a "general" tool.

Definitely use a jeweler's loupe to watch the trichomes...clear, it's not ready, milky 50+% yes, then time to chop unless you want a bit more 'couch lock'. More than 40% amber it's going into degrading mode.

Beg to differ that watching w/ loupe ...."trichome color is not that accurate". It's certainly a good reference as to watching bud ripening process.

Hairs/pistils too should be at least 50% turning colors and little new growth or white pistils forming. White strains, not so much.

What I mean is your plants will be blooming in full swing, then, they'll stop or almost, even though they are being fed. That tells me they're through. Then I stop with base nutes. -granger

Well, from autoflower plants, I've noticed that its harder to judge when to water since the flower starts and finishes on its own. With that being said, as soon as those buds start to REALLY swell, water till a couple days before you want to harvest.
