Why not start them at 24/0? They will grow faster.
And if you start them at 12/12 then they might start to flower when you put them outside, as the flowering hormone has already built up to some extent by the long dark period you are giving them.

And hybrids flower way before the dark reaches 12 hours a night.
They will start to flower at 13 or even 13.5 hours of daylight as long as they have been growing for a while.
By the time the daylight drops to 12 hours outdoors they should be getting close to harvest.

There is a thread on here some where that discusses light cycles. If he were to start seedlings under 12/12 they may preflower/flower to some degree but after putting them outdoors while the daylight is increasing they should veg(not considering ruderalis strains).

I really don't know why anyone would veg starts whether clones or seedlings, at less than 24 hours light a day; it's been proved in studies that cannabis grows faster under constant light

hasnt been proven in my years worth of studies. veg under 24hrs and put outside = flowering plant.

long time ago i vegged under 24hrs. now i start seeds and clones under 18hrs and quickly diminish down to 15 and a half to 16 hrs for outdoor. anything that wants to flower with 16 hrs, i dont want for outdoor large plants.

if you want your plants to flower as soon as you put them outside, then its ok to veg under 24hrs. i dont want that. jus my opinion. sorry if i come of argumentitive, im not really like that. grow on!

Depends on your latitude, last frost, and your genetics dark sensitivity. I typically see photoperiod strains flower with about 9.5-10.5 hours dark. So if your receiving about 13.5-14.5 hours of light your going to be vegging outdoors depending on your strain. Strains that need more dark to flower can go out to veg a bit earlier than the early finishing types.

Just use this, enter your city and find the day you are going to be putting them out. Add a half hour to each side (one hour total) length of day. Use that as the length of day on your lights inside.

Start them inside with June 6th sunrise/sunset + half hour extra on each end. Put them out on or after june 6th and you should be good to go.

Or, use this one . Use "Civil Twilight"

No added hour if using "Civil Twilight"

I have always just planted when I can, and go from there. I have learnt having any plants to put in the ground is still better then no plants. Nothing wrong with fucking around with unknown genetics to get a good feel of your own skill level. I work with what I've got every day. I plant small plants big plants, veggin plants and flowering plants. Some come from out of fluros others are cfl and hps. They do all react differently and this is how I'm learning. This is how I recommend any one else that wants to learn first hand to. Know one can tell you better then yourself after all.

This year I only used nature to get my babies on the go, I made kit set green houses to propagate. My plants are large. Some are 4 weeks from harvest.
