When to move seeds from water to soil?

Hello. How long should I wait for the root to grow in the glass of water before I plant it in seedling mix? The seed has just cracked and the root is almost out of the pod. I can see it but its not an 1/8 inch yet.

Its just a seed that I found in my first crop I am doing for practice till I need to make more plants for my next crop. I have Blackjack...pure power plant...ak48 and super skunk. I am thinking I will crack 2 blackjack and 2 ak48 and do em side by side. What do ya think? I will make another journal.

When?
As soon as you can see the root tip.

The sooner, the better.

How, is important too.
Drop them into the soil with the pointy end up.

what i do is as soon as they crack ill pop them in between some paper towels moistened.. that will bring out tha tail much more then viola into the soil.. and you should be fine.. If you leave in the water to long they will turn to mush ime.. peace n pufs.

Weezard.....just noticed your reply.....Thanks. These 2 seeds were found in some of my last (first) crop. It was found in a mendo purp bud......so if I did not notice any hermie plants at all....doesnt it meen that there must have been a male to polinate???? or a hermie to polinate. 2 seeds in 15 ounces of weed is not that bad...but does it meen that I had a unknoticed hermie?

It just means that you either hit the lottery with some stray, airborn pollen or, barring hidden hermies, a minor miracle has occured.

Nope prolly not.
They would have walked across the water when ya tried to plant them.

I would keep a close eye on em though.
If it was a stealth hermie, those seeds might have, um, tendencies.

Warm, moist soil will not freeze or dry out your seed. Paper towels and cups of water have no magic powers. Just drop a dry, uncracked seed straight into your medium and water it. It's worked for hundreds of thousands of years.

16oz plastic cup, good draining medium, lay seed just below surface, mist and cover with plastic wrap. done, no tweezers or shock.

T.Hill says no more than an hour in H20 believe... NS
