When liquid nutes go old...

in the old days when the great and mighty Shabang was running things at OG (rest in peace), i'll bet we could have gotten many thousands of people to stop buying one manufacturers product and send them an email explaining why. purchasing power is a great thing indeed. like they could survive on the straight hobbiests business alone.

as it is now, with every board going, i bet we couldn't get 1000 to do it with a year of planning. sad indeed.

i'm in!

hey captK, i'm fatboy cuz i'm fat, boy!

40 lbs over normal but i'm working on it. :)

i was fatboy since 99 at OG, it's odd to see a Fatboy here. maybe i should be oldfatboy.

now, for your viewing pleasure, Ms Beth O.

This is sort of why I've discontinued using bottled ferts, all of them are prone to turning to shit after awhile.
If they are mostly organic do not trow them away if you have a compost heap (not a wormbin), the composting will reset the elements in the nutes and enrich the compost after bicrobial action.
Be carefull when handling the fert bottles, don't let anything microbial get into contact with the contents of the bottle because it will quicken the degradation process, the fridge is a good place but be weary because EJ products go to shit if it's too cold.
My PBPro is old and I still use it occasionnaly when feeling lazy, mostly for outdoor plants and shrubs and shit because my girls get the goods.

Guanos that stay dry are good for a long time, so does dolomite, kelp meal, powdered fulvics and even liquid one i think, bone and blood meal, etc.
Another reason to give up the bottle and turn to elemntal ammendments and teas.

Good posts everyone.

Good info, I kinda suspected my flora nova was bad and found out from GH.com:

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF THE FLORA SERIES NUTRIENTS?

Answer: Properly stored (cool environment, out of sunlight, sealed container) they should last indefinitely.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF THE DRY NUTRIENT LINES?

Answer: Our dry nutrient formulations should be stored in a dry cool environment. Remember to seal the bag and replace the lid on the container. Avoid leaving this product in direct sunlight or warm humid environments.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF THE FLORANOVA SERIES NUTRIENTS?

Answer: Properly stored (cool environment, out of sunlight, sealed container) the FloraNova series should last up to one year without any problems.

I'm surprised to hear this "up to one year" answer. That's pretty short, considering they're oftentimes not stored in ideal environments at the stores to begin with for who knows how long.

lol Why bother to properly store it if it only lasts a year. Terrible.

Anyone know how long Advanced Nutirents last? awesome info everyone

I would assume indefinitely like the GH Flora series, if you're referring to their 3-part or 2-part synthetic nutes.

:yeahthats
read the whole thread and you beat me to my answer Suby but I cannot do with out the LK. So, just buy fresh like I do and keep it in the fridge. And brew those teas yourself
