When is the best time to purchase a car?

Always ask how long its been there and ask a million questions. You want to know if its used and exactly what work was done and exactly when. During the negotiations when they come back scribbling on a peice of paper, BRING YOUR OWN BLACK THICK PERMANENT MARKER and start writing your own prices. Lowball them. But don't ever be rude, smile, be polite and firm. DON'T EVER ANSWER ANY QUESTION IF IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE TRYING TO SET YOU UP OR MANIPULATE YOU. JUST TELL THEM SORRY I DON'T WANT TO ANSWER THAT. Most used cars will be marked up $4000. Start your negotiation 3500 below the asking price. DON'T and I mean DON'T tell them how much you want to spend per month. They will hold you to that. Just tell them you want a good deal. It's about $20 per 1000 for your monthly payment. so a12000 dollar car is about 240 a month. Be careful of any questions you answer - THEY USUALLY ASK YOU A QUESTION TO LEAD YOU UP TO SOMETHING. Don't threaten to leave if you don't get your deal just be patient, firm and smile. Any questions just hit me up.

Ohhh the best time to purchase is during really bad weather at the end of the month. They've already made their money and the sales managers want to increase the number of cars sold for that month. Also if the lot looks real crowded they will want to move some vehicles. they would rather sell you something at very little profit and maybe gain a customer for the future then sell no car at all. oh and tell them FIRST THING "if you tell me the deal is good only for today, im walking, I don't fall into those traps" (but don't actually walk) lol

oh and sometimes they use a code on the car for the price A=1 B=2 ect, oh and something else that is important - if they are not making much money on the car the sales manager will say "thats ok we will get him in financing" meaning they will try and mark up the interest rate as much as possible to make money that way. its usually better to go to the bank yourself, credit unions are GREAT for auto loans. good luck!

new cars are absolutely pointless, in my humble opinion. get a comfortable 99-04 luxury vehile (BMW,MB,Audi,Lexus,Acura) and you'll be more than happy to pay a little more at the dealer for the service (i dont know how outrageous it is in America, though) and a little more at the gas station (i pay 3.50 gallon).

i agree with this dude...

i am a firm beliver in buying a used car that holds its value.

for example - buy a used BMW with low miles at lets say 10gs. Drive it for a couple years, and then re-sell it for 9000.

2 years of driving in luxury for $1000.

can't beat that!

I read a book called the Millionaire Mind by Thomas Stanley... there was a huge section on the cars most millionaires buy. You would be amazed how many millionaires do it the way I just mentioned. Check that book out. I highly recommend it to everyone destined for success in life, or just interested in the habits of the wealthy.

right before new year. best time.
haggle on price, thats all u can do. if they dont go down on price, make them give u the extended warrenty...
"ill pay full price if you give me the 100k warrenty, and 20's"
