i'm at about 8 days into veg on first grow. paradise fem ice cream. everything going good, excellent growth. using RODI water, 0 TDS, PH of water about 8.0. using promix bx soil w/ alittle extra perlite, about 80/20 mix. i plan on using cal~mag supplement, especially since my water is as clean as can be...nothing in it. :joint:
i also plan on using a few of the following, not sure which one or ones:
-superthrive additive
-FF big bloom fert
-pure blend grow fert
-pure blend bloom fert
-earth juice bloom fert
maybe some blood and bone meal. since i'm a newb at actually growing, which nutes do i need and should i use, and when do i start? i plan on starting slow, just 1 at first, 1/2 dose and steadily increasing to recommended dosing and maybe addition of other nutes. thanks alot. :joint:

well vindiesel
you picked an expensive one for the first run, didnt you?

anyways....good luck.

also.....8.0pH is too alkaline (high) for soil.
our plants like the dirt a wee bit acidic, actually.

adjust the water AND nutes to a pH of about 6.3 and THEN add it to your soil.
8 is way too high.

good luck dood.
might wanna read thru these forums a bit more so you dont crap out that big investment youve made.

expensive? u mean the ice cream...? i wanted to use something silly for 1st try, and at the time it sounded silly when i bought it, so, not 2 expensive though...so start using PH down NOW for water i use to water plants. they are only 9 days old. thanks.

Vin im Curious as to what your Ph is before its run through the RO Filter, that seems insanely high being that the RO seems to drop my ph slightly

i'll check later and let u know. it was actually 8.00-8.10. drifted between that w/ a digital ph probe for a couple minutes.

sure....
correct pH is great at any stage of a plants life.

mix water and nutes and adjust pH to approx 6.3 THEN add to soil...

i wouldnt feed yet, tho, if they only 9 days old.
im not privvy to the pro mix. i use fox farms. i dont have to feed, in most cases, until 3rd or 4th week. and thats by choice...they could prolly go longer.

those fox farms nutes are a wee bit "hot", too, so you might want to consider 1/4 dose first time you feed and work up from that point.....

good luck vindiesel

i'm gonna get some PH down tomorrow.

some really good stuff for pH down.....

earth juice makes a natural pH down thats stable over periods of time (as opposed to the "vinegar quick fix")

its realtively cheap, stable, and plants dont seem to mind it at all.
general hydroponics makes pH up and down also, but, ive been TOLD in the past they contain salts (?cant personally verify?) so i went to earth juice pH adjusters and havent looked back since.

might be worth taking a look at. its about 7-9 usd per bottle. they make an UP and a DOWN....(ive never had the need for up using earth juice nutes which are pretty acidic....as well as the fox farms stuff.....)

give those ice creams the best and they will return the favor.....
you picked a good strain in that ice cream, vindiesel.

be sure to let us know how your progress goes.
and dont hesitate to ask if youve got more questions, mate.

good luck!
