What's your go-to breeder nowadays?

First of all, not trying to start a seedbank war here, just some friendly info-exchange

Second, please excuse my ignorance. I'm somewhat rusty on the topic, did most of growing in early 2000s, so I'm out of date on a thing or two.

I'll spend a few days in Amsterdam and I'll buy some seeds, to have a fridge-collection and to grow some as well.
Now, these days it seems like there's more seedbanks than pistils on a female plant, white-lable businessman replaced old-school breeders and every other bro is a "breeder".
Also, I'm a bit confused with Blue gorilla balls cookies lemon super zkittles OG haze-kind of varieties, seems it went a bit too far
But anyway, guess that's what market wants, and we can't be stuck forever with skunks, white this and that, AKs and other old-school legends.

So, considering all that, who is still putting in the real work and producing some great beans? Which breeder do you buy from when you shop for some seeds?
I'd rather leave some money to a breeder that puts in the work and effort, than to a McDonalds of seedbanks.
Btw. I'd appreciate suggestions for stuff you can buy in a shop in Amsterdam. I'm not paying and ordering anything weed-related online, my EU country still puts you in jail for that.

I'll start the list with Simon of Serious seeds and Shantibaba.
Maybe Soma?

Do those even exist ?
I think they went extinct haha
Wish they were anyway
Seedbanks it's easy there's so many you can buy from with ease from Attitude to BSDC
Or SHN, Chitown is solid, Alpine Seed Group hold some nice things
Other than that, Alchimea is nice, Heritage,
SeedMadness,
Probably more I forgot ;)

For landrace and great landrace crosses : Ace seeds. Everything from Ace seems great. That is so far my own experience also.

Seems like those would be good picks for further crossing/breeding. Not sure what to pick otherwise.

Ya, seems like they are going extinct. I remember seeing somewhere Simon saying that he had to introduce fem seeds as his business was going down. Guess the rest are doing whatever necessary to stay afloat.

Thanks man. Many of those are US based, not available at Amsterdam seed center shop. Thou, Karma genetics came often as recommended, and it seems they're Dutch so I'll have a look at their gear.

Seriously - dont buy them in Amsterdam. Unless its Black Friday. Or you are set to do it.
The Strains you buy depend on what u need.

Without any specs: Nobody i know has ever badmouthed Barney`s Farm.

Seeds of Love, DC Seed Exchange and SeedsHereNow for banks

For breeders specifically, Humboldt Seed Co has been a go-to. Before that & now currently, Native Sun Genetics/Cartier Crops. 3Thirteen Seeds has been kind to me & has fantastic gear. Archive Seed Bank, a personal favorite for sure. Oh, Thug Pug is another although I really just prefer the PBB but he's got some other heaters out there. I feel like Gromer @ Thug Pug really helped put "Meat" strains on the map

Most of Ace strains are thoroughly worked for indoors or outdoors growing. From indicas like Bubba Kush x PCK, hybrids like Kali China to sativas like Zamaldelica.
Some strains like New Caledonia are landrace strains that have been cleaned up.
You should look them up on their forum on this site.

Lately i've grown some nice stuff from capulator and sin city seeds.

I have a couple of older keepers from in house and seed junky.

Generally though, I tend to have better luck acquiring keepers from smaller breeders who concentrate of getting a couple of strains right rather than those pumping out tons of crosses.

Top Dawg, Ace, and Karma have all been solid for me and like many have said making your own crosses can be very rewarding. Really depends what you’re looking to accomplish! I personally use a karma headbanger for most of my breeding foundation. The reason is-it finishes well outdoors for me and produces a high percentage of quality resin when washed. When I hit it w sour bubble pollen it retained all ideal traits but w sour bubble flavor dominant.

Difficult when you limit yourself to just Amsterdam but i can fully understand the reason.
There are several good places to get seeds like Grasshopper, Amsterdam Seed Center, DNA Store, Spliff Seeds,..just to name a few. Best to check their website.

Serious Seeds is a great choice, Karma Genetics, ACE, Devils Harvest Seeds, they're all available but limited and not the whole catalog.
Stay away from RQS or souvenir shops for seeds.

Remember, most seed companies operating out of Holland farm out the work to the Spaniards..it's about as hands off as can be ;-)

Go to breeder in EU...
Ripper Seeds
Growers Choice NL
Mamiko Seeds
Humboldt Seed Org

I have mixed feelings about Karma, I would try the fems if time & life would allow it.
Connoisseur Genetics also comes to mind if you can afford to hunt many packs as most are unworked crosses
Stay away from TruCanna Genetics imo
