What's Your Favorite Grinder? ( Pics a Plus! )

Grinders are definitely the most practical innovation in weed smoking over the 25 years I was away from the scene. Even the cheapies work decently.

I coughed up the $40 for a 3.5" magnetic Spacecase titanium- nice simple gadget, works great.

Definitely not for seeded bud, however...

Just about every type of grinder "works" (and so will fingers or scissors)..much like just about every type of car will get you from A to B...but with the gradual decriminalization of cannabis, we will be able to invest in quality smoking items without fear of detection or loss and things like grinders, trays, glassware etc..instead of fingers, magazines and throw away pipes...will improve in quality, performance, finish etc

I'm not a fan of plastic grinders, as resin sticks to synthetic and it's impossible to remove.

Those metal grinders work well, but I either drop those heavy metal grinders on my foot (ouch) or I drop them on a glass table (crack!, shattered!)

I prefer a high quality, well made wooden grinder (definitely not one of those el cheapo Indian or Pakistan grinders), every month or so run an inch x inch curved piece of sandpaper around the connecting edges of the two halves and it's brand new again.

Has anyone checked out the square shaped rosewood 4 piece grinder with a screen that is CNC-ed from a solid piece of wood (similar to the metal 4 piece grinders) the teeth are solid wood and are milled from the solid wood grinder halves and not individually attached to the grinder halves.....these are a beautiful piece of work if you appreciate that type of thing.

One thing is for sure, grinders really do make a perfectly even blend, that is better and more even than fingers or scissors and more importantly, with less resin loss....when grinding with fingers, the best trichomes are stuck on your fingers and wasted, when using scissors some of the trichomes explode away and are lost ...whereas when using a grinder, the breaking up of the bud and all the trichomes are contained inside the grinding chamber....the difference is not much, but over time it adds up.

i have been thinking about grabbing a space case for a while now... I figure if I am going to buy one I might as well go for the jumbo one right? If I don't, I will want it later on and I could solve that problem by just buying it now...

anyone have experience with the large space cases? would you go with a different brand over the space case?

Don't buy a brand, buy a grinder that feels good in your hand, has a smooth even action when turned, has a good weight and balance in your hand, a clean smooth quality finish and in your mind and pocket is worth the asking price......if branding was the most important thing McDonalds would have the best burgers and Budweiser would be the best beer.

neat what kind is that called?
i think my grandma had something like that

They're (old, vintage, antique) nut or herb grinders or choppers. Find them on ebay or whatever for $5 or so. There's new versions around, too, for a few bucks more. Unless you're carrying your grinder around with you I don't see the reason to spend big bucks on a titanium whatever fancy pants model. But YMMV.

Probably one of the most documented grinders on the net. From '06 to last year, this grinder was used on most every nug I have posted on the net. Peace GS

That's why I bought one of these-

Well, other than the pocket thing, which never was my intention, anyway.

I'll rate it as nearly indestructible in normal use & big enough to be hard to lose around the house.
