Crazy Baldheads

Them crazy, them crazy
We gonna chase those crazy
Baldheads out of town
Chase those crazy baldheads
Out of town

I and I build a cabin
I and I plant the corn
Didn't my people before me
Slave for this country
Now you look me with a scorn
Then you eat up all my corn

We gonna chase those crazy baldheads
Chase them crazy
Chase those crazy baldheads out of town

Build your penitentiary, we build your schools
Brainwash education to make us the fools
Hate is your reward for our love
Telling us of your God above

[Chorus]

...Here comes the conman
Coming with his con plan
We won't take no bribe, we got stay alive

We gonna chase those crazy
Chase those crazy baldheads
Chase those crazy baldheads out of town...

For real though some of the lyrics are tight: "herb for my wine, honey for my strong drink"... ital for sure! I love that line (from "easy skankin"...) makes me proud to be rasta.

my personal fav. -which hasnt been mentioned yet: Rastaman Chant.
(-live versions, r especially amazing!! ..gotta love the drum intro.!!)

...& of course i must agree on the afore mentioned: WAR, Crazy Baldheads, (for their pure lyrical excellence!!), as well as 400 yrs. & Slave Driver. really hard to limit this to even 1 or 2!! ..so, i go & list 5! LoL!!

My gods, what A hard choice *thinking* some great ones have already been mentioned, like Kaya, Soul Shakedown Party, Stir it up, Redemtion Song.. To ad to the list I would have to put Misty Morning as one of my top choices, it all depends on my mood though..

That said, I'm listning to Ozzy ATM :headbange

I just love the verse where he sings about him planting the seeds but the sheriff telling to kill them before they grow in "I Shot the Sheriff". I get a smile on my face each time I hear it and visualize their conversation in my mind, Marley talking to this hard boiled sheriff from texas with big sunglasses and a funny hat...

I listen to a lot of ska and reggae, and Bob's lesser known stuff are the only things that haven't been beaten to death for me by wanna-be hipsters. That being said......."Iron Lion Zion." :sasmokin: Although IMHO, there is much better reggae out there than Bob.

Robert Nesta Marley!

Just as CsfRaziel, Forever Loving Jah is my favorite Joint.
Right behind it is Talking Blues, Them Belly Full, We a Dem, Bad Card, Ok Fuck it, All of em!

But I am Anti-Legend album, People should be forced to buy other albums of his. His music and message are being lost. Legend doesn't even scratch the surface.
