Your airFLOW is your problem.

You are circulating the same air over and over.

You need to CIRCULATE MORE

I ended up doing this (pics coming)

awww man... you're going to make me redraw that.. See the pics above? See how it grabs from the carbon THEN goes though the hood, then out?

the cab area is only 2x2x4 (ft), so if I keep the scrubber inside the cab, how would I connect the reflector hood to the fan?

ok, i'm trying this method i'll see how it works, but there isn't anything connected to the hood, it's just a scrubber inside the cab connected to the fan, this is going to reduce my room for growing plants, how do a lot of people keep their scrubbers outside their cab?

i know I said I wouldn't post, but people have been posting so i'm just responding i'm not going to ask anything unless somebody responds

It still works the way you and others run it.. That's not the way it's ment to be used and it's life will be shortend. But, not that bad..

Focus on an inlet 'helper' fan.

carbon scrubbers will work both ways..you can push air through them or pull air through them. There not complicated machines...

A couple things to note about carbon scrubbers...

Activated carbon is like that stuff that soaks up oil when you spill it on the ground. It can only absorb so many organic molecules before it is full and can clean no more. The prefilter (the white pad on the outside) is designed to pick up the dust and dander and all of the big stuff, so that the carbon can focus on the small 'smelly' stuff. So the way it is setup you should pull the air through the prefilter 1st and then through the carbon. So this mean if you want to push air through the filter, just remove the prefilter and move it to the inside of the main filter. Violla :)
Now fans in general would rather pull than push...so pushing air through your filter might reduce the life of your fan.

just keep the closet door open and follow Jnugg and Legions advice and you should be fine :)

The reason it is now warmer inside the cab then before is becuase of the addition of the Carbon Filter.

Take the filter off (shouldn't need it until you flower unless it's a stinker).

Where do you dump the exhuast air? attic, back into the closet, into the bedrrom the closet sits in?

haha sorry for laughing, but my cab looks like that. I am glad I'm not the only one with about 10 feet of ducting crammed into a little box. I have tons of unnecessary bends, but that is the only way I could get everything to fit.

Even with my convoluted ducting I have no temp problems. And this is with my blower adjusted way down. Lower ambient temps really help, mine are about 65-70 F.

Don't give up abc. Those cheapo thermometers are often wrong as CCE has shown. Just use common sense. Use the back of the hand test.

I think the best setup is CF>fan>light>outside. This way the inside of your hood stays dust-free.

No worries. I went C25 and now wish I went C22.

If and when I swap it out I will do C22 and a 6" fan instead ot the 4" fan and all the added 4-6 reducers :ugh:

What a moron. This guy has been given all the correct advice and he still does not get it. YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR TEMPS DOWN AS LONG AS THAT DOOR IS CLOSED.

no you cant put the intake holes in the ceiling of the cab, thats where all the hot air is, put the vent on the back wall near the bottom where cool air is

I was having the same problem, you're recirculating the warm air and it just keeps getting warmer and warmer. Pull through the scrubber, then through the hood, and vent outside of the closet, through the door, or wall, or something. And find a better way to get fresh air into the closet for the cabinet. Or get an oscillating fan to keep the air in the closet moving. My $0.02.

Can you? Is there a rule stating you cannot? Because in my opinion, I don't see why not.

can you put passive intakes near the bottom, on the side of the cab?

Dude, I just read this thread (bored and high :joint: ) :pointlaug :pointlaug :pointlaug

This is some funny shit, I was rolling, :bigeye:

But really, if your asking that question you REALLY need to do some more reading. I'm a rookie too, only about 10 months, but I read for weeks (no shit) before wasting anyones time, and I know people love to help, but wow, I think you might be the horse :deadhorse

Anyway good luck and happy reading
