What's the best bulb for digi ballasts?

From what I've read Eye horti bulbs burn out when using them in a digi ballast. So what's the best bulb I can get for my 1000w hps futurebrite?

thanks

I agree with Sam the Caveman, Ushio bulbs work fine with my Lumatek 600w ballast and Hortilux do not. :2cents:

krunchbubble, I was just going to mention those. I am running on 600w Sunpulse PSMH right now but it's not flowering so I can't say anything about that, yet. I am intrigued by them for sure.
You plan on making a thread about the results if you see anything of note?
I have been interested in doing a controlled experiment with these bulbs, but don't have the space/money right now.

Peace folks

I have always run Eye Hortilux in my 400w set up with a galaxy digital ballast and have had zero problems. I hope that is not the case as I just upgraded to a 600w with EH.

My digi's burn Hortilux & Ushio bulbs a little more "red" in the visible spectrum... can see it pretty easily on a side-by-side w c&c ballasts & white background paper. The Hortilux often picks up a high pitched hum from the digis though doesn't do this w the c&c... haven't picked this up on the Ushio as of yet. PAR measurements comparable between the two. Ushio seems to be more "compatible"- no humming (as of yet) + appear more "balanced" from the naked eye, though par the same. Peace.

Be nice if Sun Pulse tried an hps...

Just use regular bulbs. Cheaper to replace every few grows and the difference in results in negligible.

I once had a 250watt digital, and it burned out my blue hortilux in a month.

I'm sticking with CMH for now..
