vary scary.. all these unjust laws and circumstances FORCE otherwise "good" people into "bad" areas.. Since mj is illegal and one gets in trouble for selling it, there is not much (legal etc) difference to a for-profit-only dealer selling pot or chemical drugs! Since many people are forced to go to people like this for their pot, there is an unfair association (although very real in many cases) between weed and other hard drugs, weed as a gateway drug, and other connections between pot and socially problematic drug use/addiction. I remember thinking that the smell of weed is such a giveaway that its harder to be on that stealthily than it is most other (hard) drugs and that I might as well just join em and sniff some coke or oxy! shame... plus that shit was easier to find than good pot some times! (at least there is bubble hash, which isnt such a giveaway smell-wise!)..
Anyways, some of the only things one can do if stacking cash and not wanting to lose it someday to some greedy dirty pig is hide it well.. Unfortuneately again, these unjust/unfair circumstances/laws for less than honourable actions among otherwise honourable gardeners, herbal medicine distributors. (It can also create "honour among outlaws" because there are no standards that can be applied formally nor any dispute-resolution mechanisms in this world other than extreme free-market repercussion - if you're a shittty business you eventually get no business. If you do good work etc, that speaks for itself and through your quality etc you will rise in success). Thats without a "limit" - thats in an open environment of healthy competition and where the fittest will survive (and not necessarily the richest!).
So yeah, a safety deposit box is better than a bank account for cash, but can still be easily found and seized. protecting your assets is also a lifestyle too.. The old fashioned "bury your money" is not that bad of an idea - so Ive heard!
Hypothetical situation / fictional circumstances / entertainment
so I "heard" this fictional "story" you may find of interest. It is total fiction and hypothetical speculation and not my idea, method, or writing..
1) Make sure cash is well wrapped and protected against ANY moisture (it will rot, mold, disintegrate if it gets wet etc) - it should be in an airtight container of some sort. Best is to divide your "stash" (what you wont need to access except in emergency etc) into 3 or 4 parts so its diversified and if 1 is found or lost etc its not as bad as everything gone.. If you can discreetly get some larger bills (casino?) or just make a point of saving them whenever you get them, it is alot easier to store (less space).
2) A mason jar (or any impermeable sealed container like that) works great and you cna easily fit over 10K (50s, 100s) into a normal size jar. (precautions: the lid will probably beep for a metal detector - this may be good or bad, depending on your situation, mode of recovery etc). The rubber-sealing jars that are just glass and thick plastic (No metal) can overcome this issue if its a problem.)
3) Warp in multiple plastic ziplock bags and duct-tape the shit out of it. Put paper towels around and wrap again (this can be a final barrier if any moisture gets in).. Then squeeze into jar and put some silica packs or polymer crystals in there loose to absorb any moisture (there shouldnt be ANY except perhaps a tiny amount of condensation from air inside the jar being warmer than cold earth, but there is not much air left in there and this is MINIMAL)
4) Make sure you rememeber the location or make a map (in code so if found by others it is undiscernable / gibberish) for later retrieval - or if you will use a metal detector to find the lid that can work too.. Dig a good sized hole, deep enough so any animals cant/wont be able to dig it out (they smell freshly disturbed earth and can come try to dig it up - imagine a fox or coyote walking off with your life-savings! not as funny as it would look (had a fox steal a golfball right off the green before on Cape Breton!). Its good to m ake like an Lshaped hole so you can fit in in and under that solid lip (or under roots is good too) for extra protection against being dug up.. But if its 2-3ft or more and packed in tightly it will be fine (deeper is better of course). You can wrap in a garbage bag or leave in jar (smooth, large surface makes it near impoossible for animal to hold in mouth opposed to a tied bag which can be bitten and carried easier).
