The plant knows what it wants and needs - it will show you
if you only listen
if it's attached - leave it alone; or is that, leaf it be.?
The goal of any grow - especially the first few, is always get to harvest. I'm pretty sure - your pointed in the correct hemishpere - ok your going the right direction.
Even as they start to turn yellow they are sources of amino acids and protiens, vits and precious resources. Why deprive your plant of these?

something tells me it will be a lot funnier a few years from now.
And from my experience, stress can trigger a hermi prone plant to go to the other team. over/under watering did it to me a while back, and once in a heat wave.
Being attacked by a weed wacker - could be.
If the trait is there - it will come out sooner or later. Thrash the genes
