What year was the g13 clone lost

Does anyone have information as to what year nevil lost his cut of the g13 clone. I have a fair idea but was just looking for some evidence around this..so if you can produce any facts id be gratefull..

Thou Nevil's G13 cut died he had given a G13 cut to Jim Ortega in the 80's. So it's not lost.
Here's a post from 2011 by Jim Ortega/dogless at MrNice forum about how he had sold the G13 to DrGreenthumb ,who is now selling S1 seeds of that cut.

I am here to back a real bro for not disclosing me as his source in obtaining his G13 strain. It is a great pleasure knowing this person for being true to his word.
Dr. Greenthumb has been taking alot of crap for the nickname D/D that I labled some clones that I sold him. It has caused a shit storm at a couple of forums.
I owe Dr. Greenthumb a huge apology for the stress he is probably going thru.
I am apologizing to Dr. Greenthumb here since I have quite a few friends here that know a little about my history growing mj. As most of you who know me can vouch that I have had the G13 strain since the mid 80's. Nevil can also verify that. And also that I had sold the strain for $25g's to a "canadian breeder" a while back. Btw, the 25g's were distributed to our group who had previously agreed to keep the strain locked down. Had the economy not gone to shit it would have never been sold.
Dr. Greenthumb bought the strain and not just the clone. He decided to make it available to the public in pure form and is basically selling the strain at around 1% of what he paid for it, which is quite a deal.
I would also like to extend my apology to Double D a moderator at another forum for stress he must have for the confusion about my labeling methods.

I also want all my bro's who have sent me pm's that I am answering each and everyone within the next couple of days. The Skunk that you all are after will be available as soon as Nevil decides what he wants to do with the strain as I am leaving it up to him.

I showed Nevil the pictures of the G13 that Dr G put in Skunk magazine and he said that is exactly his G13 that he gave Dogless and DD.
Now he doesnt want to get into this discussion about Dr G's description of his G13, but if you want to PM him he is quite willing to tell you the situation, albiet it might take him a little time to answer......These are his exact words !!

I can ask but what i remember Nev telling me was the G13 clone was not around long at all he only manged to make a few crosses the last being G13/Sk that he then past to shanti .

Haven't grown any, but could be.
But i'm no sure if i'd buy those. They're fairly expencive seeds and G13 is legendary and strong but it's not very tasty by modern standards.


Haven't smoked pure G13 but i have a G13 leaning Gordy's Spice18 and it's fairly bland; abit sweet,honey, floral-clovers, acrid, little peppery and some skunky notes. Nothing too special but she sure is strong smoke!

FWIW, Alan Dronkers contends all the clones Nevil obtained from Portland in the fall of ‘86 are alive and accounted for inside Sensi’s Seeds genetic repository. While I’m not inclined to personally believe him, it’s an interesting alternative

so Nevil gets the cut towards the end of 86 and it's not around for long during which a few crosses are made, by 88 there is the mr nice g13/hashplant

the g13 I've had was loud piney skunk and potent, so skunky it was a bit gassy, almost like chemdog with none of the funk nuances, definitely tasty and strong, not as complex flavor as some modern strains but a better flavor, like a rainy PNW pine forest

The original G13 Neville got did not come from Jim Ortega.

Your correct but the original g13 did not come from Jim Ortega the last cross of the original G13 Nev Had was to a Skunk male.



Nev had the seed sitting on a shelf above his fire place and they are the ones shanti was given that he managed to germinate some from.

Thank you mex weed so you think 87-88 was wen nevil lost it...is ther any way you can post some quotes or something from nevil or the ppl who wer around at the time..
An guys just to clarify my question isnt about about other ppl who nevil passed the clone on to who managed to keep it...im not disputing the legitimacy of mr Ortega's cutting...my interest is in wen nevil originally lost his cutting and his back up cuttings. Yes nevil realized it was actually still around but that wasnt till many many years later wen he managed to get back in touch with mr Ortega....im just interested in the part and dates of wen it was first thought to be lost

I have no idea really just going off of some posts in this thread, 88 g13/hashplant is the most prominent g13 strain I know of along with g13 haze, lemon g, and the g13 skunk, but due to the dates and the hashplant being the most related as far as similar plant type, it kind of makes sense that it was lost and then the cross made with the most similar strain stepped up
