What would you do if you moved in to a new house. Looked in the attic and found a 6m x 6m perfectly constructed grow room with super good insulation, fully mylared. 2 purpose made vent points, one of which goes into the chimney.
This happened to my non grower friend. He askes my advice but i haven't done one this big. how muxh light. What extractors. barring in mind its quite warm with out lights. And has slanted ceiling on either side of a 3m x 6m horizontal ceiling in the center.
A Guy could all ways throw a couple 1k's in there and grow some veggies for a 6mos. and see what happens.
I would NOT Jump in and fire off a Mj grow right away. If it IS a trap, and THEY have a way to watch Your Meter, or IR Your Chimney, Then there will be a rip of Your veggies a couple months after THEY notice a flip to 12/12.
Proceed from there.
thanks for the advice. Think ill leave it be. Its a shame. I keep the unopened all-mix bags though. Mabey in a few months. Put a tent up there or something.
haha a tent?...you have a built grow room! I would listen to twisted trucker and grow some bad ass veggies for a while. If all looks clean and new, I would bet someone will be back for thier stuff as soon as they get out. Attics are not the best place for growing anyway. Maybe take it all apart and set it up elseware?
Run some veggies when you get some gear and test the conditions up there and see if its easily controlled for growing. Probably not..but maybe your lucky! Make sure to keep a current recommendation from your Doc
Problem is---if the landlord didn't say or know anything about it he could do 1 of 2 things. Find it during an inspection and charge him for the repairs which could be quite costly seeing as it's tied into the chimney. Or, he could already know about it, give your friend a little time and then do an inspection, charge your friend for something he didn't charge the previous tenant for. If his insurance does an inspection it'll get rough for the homeowner financially.
Suppose your friend moves out. A new family moves in, thinks the fireplace is cool and fires it up during the winter. A spark flies out and burns the house down. Now the landlord, who may or may not have known about it gives the fire dept and police your friends name and they try to charge him with everything and the insurance lawyers send him a court summons ordering him to pay to rebuild the house.
Not being a dick, just realistic. Some landlords are ok, some are total scum.
