The best for me was Blues (livers cut) purely on its High and taste, the strongest was NL5 x Haze in the early nineties or could be late eighties, not too sure now, memories are pretty much of a muchness of the past, and the highest high i had was Thai in the 70's.
The strongest Hash i have had, was in the seventies, it was a charas brought back to the Island by a kid called tod linski, and Les Cracknel, they said it was nepalese temple hash, but i was only 16 and didnt even know what they were on about lol.

summer of 94, my second trip to christiania. year before the only weed was just called grass. outdoor grown danish pot that was cheap but almost not worth smoking. this summer every stall was bursting with huge buds, they all called it skunk but can't say for sure it all was same. the smell look taste and high was of a different world. still love the stuff that stings in your nose when you smell it

In the '70s, I had some gold. Seeds, buds and stems were gold. I don't know how they did it. I had some cured that was so good in the early '80s, people showed up from miles around and wanted to try it. Hash oil around '78. Red Bud in the '80s. Then commercial. I'm 66 years old and can't get a damn thing.
Sucks. Been straight 20 years. Kept a job that tested us. Retired and not tested anymore.

Thai Stick was my favorite -best I've ever had....1975...brought back by Vietnam War vets. Had a spicy, clove/shoe polish taste and smell...indescribable, though, at the same time -very fantastic!

Most of the really good stuff was unnamed back then. We just understood that when it was good, it had a very recognizable smell -somewhere between skunk and blueberry, by my nose. Most of the stuff we got came up from Mexico, so, in retrospect, I imagine it was regionally-grown, native landrace sativa. If we got lucky and got a bale that was grown well, then it had that that skunky smell....otherwise, it just smelled like hay or ammonia...but guess what....we smoked it anyway! *shrugs*

When some of those seeds started getting grown out, growers started to get very selective about what they kept....and a lot of what they kept wasn't very "loud" because growing "loud" weed was a dead giveaway to the cops. Fast forward 50 years....lots of very pretty flowers....very frosty....but not in the same ballpark as what use to be considered as "the good stuff"

Back in the 90´s, we did smoke two exceptional things apart from morrocan hash (which was cut with hennah back then) in central paris; what we called afghan (in fact black indian or himalayan hash or charas) quite narcotic I recall, and my favorite the « Fil rouge », compressed brick weed smelly with good taste and exceptional effects, red eyes, laughing and long lasting stone and flying mind effect.
At least could be similar to Saint Vincent, or to any high grade caraibean it could be. Never knew which one though…
Souvenirs, smoked this one watchin Ace Ventura for the first time rented to the video club, we rewinded the same spy behaviour scene with my little brother maybe 20 times in a row…laughing more and more intensively time after time…
Peace
