What total opposite strains would you cross?

If you could cross any two strains, the only thing is they had to be totally opposite, what would you cross?

I would cross Critical Mass with True Blueberry.

Or OG Kush with Neville's Haze.

I do not think that Haze and OG Kush are opposites. Both are indica-sativa crosses. Lots of these newer strains have common genetics.

If you want opposites, try crossing a tall arching branching landrace Thai sativa with a short compact upright Lebanese red 'indica'.

However, there are big issues with crossing widely varied strains. The results will be a huge variety of resulting plant pheno- and geno- types. Some will be good, but many (and likely most) will be duds.

That would be good, lots of interesting different plants to look through.

I did a tall ssh mother x with a stocky white rhino dad, came out pretty nice - long running buds.. not too much variation, although I didn't make many seeds.

I dI'd something like this with thai x pre 98 bubba kush, I was not happy with the results. It seemed to bring out the worst traits in both strains.

It bumped up the yield of the bubba but kept the stumpy structure, it was covered in ugly red hairs and lost bubbas resin.

The few plants I ran were total trash.

Seems like there should have been some good plants in those seeds, probably have to just look through more of them.

I grew a few, I can't remember how many. All of the sativa doms were males. 2 indi doms were the females.

I probably made 100 seeds I don't remember exactly. Usually when I make seeds I try to make at least 100

I will try more eventually.

that's funny. I did the same thing and got the same results...
I crossed a lemon thai to pre98 bubba. they all grew like the thai and had little to no smell and the high was little to nothing??
it's odd because both plants were potent but cross together and they sucked.


what I was trying to do with this cross was to hopefully give the bubba the lemon smell of the thai and also make it more potent.


the only thing I noticed that got better was the yield. funny thing is both plants by them self's don't yield well....???

I think when you cross 2 totally different types together that the real gems are in the F2 generation.

Sadly most people give up in the F1 generation.
