What to tell a land lord....

Tell the landlord you work for the local landlord harassment office, you basically spend your days keeping tabs on dodgy nosey landlords who don't respect tenant's rights LOL that should keep him quiet.

seriously tho i think the self employed excuse is best cos you need less proof to show them and you might get away with just a bank check, if you say you are a rich kid that will prob set alarm bells ringing they will be expecting lots of parties and such and will also ask for a guarantor .

Last house I rented I had no job or proof of income of any kind. Just called for a showing, show up, looked at the house, said "I'll take it." proceeded to fill out an application, which was approved 48 hours later. Payed a couple grand for deposit and first months rent.

It's usually never worth it to deal with a management company. You just have to scan craigs list everyday and call every single potential property. Eventually you WILL find a land lord who is just chill, for some reason I'll never understand. You just have to go be good with people. And of course, persistent. It can take weeks or even months. But last time it only took about half a dozen calls, over a couple days, new record.

It sounds like you already got it figured out though. So, congratulations on that.

Your lucky finding a decent landlord in the UK is'nt so easy . So what did you tell them you did for a living then ? surely you did'nt say that you were a grower of fine herbs :D ,just interested like.

Dayum 5,000 per lb? nice mate! I lived in Fl most of my life and here shit goes for 3100-4000 for top quality... usually around 3700 and dude takes 15-20 + at ones.....and cali prices are around there too I think.. maybe even higher...fair for me.... Im not looking to get rich or anything... I just want to follow my dreams and hopefully do something productive that will actually help the sick or the ones in need of quality meds for a reasonable price... i find a lot of the herb out in dispensaries is not the best of qualities....
some are but those go for 75$ an 8th and 25$ a gram.. crazy to me.
All i wanna do is be able to play around with some genetics learn some more and meet some interesting while im at it.
My family recently has left to south american so im out of FL and coming to the cali scene... after all they need better pot :) Did you know that just LA medical patients smoke more than 550lb a day? and that not counting all the people that dont have cards, black market... or anything else.
Im trying to see if i can talk to the electric company to get my bill lower and try to get a commercial contract... any ideas?

i agree cash is king in cali

cash is king in the whole world, not just kali kiddo...

when looking at the rental house, be sure to show interest in the house. The landlord will feel proud if you give positive comments on his rental house. Start out by earning brownie points, the points will go a long way in the rental process...

While you are commenting on his/her rental house, be sure to tell them that you are more then willing to give them first and last months rent, as well as security deposit up front before you move in! 9/10 times this works!

If you go by these rules, you will land the house no matter HOW you technically make money...

now when you want to rent an apartment, or a management company, they tend to go by the books and run credit checks, background checks etc;...

the private landlord wants to keep their overhead low, so they do not want to run credit/bg checks because they usually cost money and that takes money from their bottom line...

show them the money, and enjoy your time in their home! pay your rent on time, and keep the yard clean and maintained, and your landlord will love you....

you want him/her to love you because at anytime shit can hit the fan as a grower and well.... you know the rest....

hope this helps :tiphat:
