im pretty sure as long as its under 99 its not too too serious, ive heard of people getting busted and getting parole, fines comm service, but never too much jail time. If its over 99 plants its federal, so he should be ok in that aspect. I also think that it can depend on the maturity of the plants (amount in veg (immature) and those in flower, they also can count clones as individual plants. It really all depends on the judge, and the laws of your friend's state (mandatory minimum sentences etc.) If you really want to find out all of the possibilities, head over to the norml website and browse the laws of your state, its super helpful.
He's from california and his court date is not until next month. Just trying to see if its gonna be bad or not. Since his grow is nothing big i would expect him not to get much time. But u never know whats gonna happen. If what u said is true about the 99 plants then i think my buddy should be fine? He only had 16 plants and his grow room is so small.
The feds can become involved if the number exceeds 99,but they don't always fortunately.I guess the obvious answer would come from the lawyer defending him,not guessing stoners lol.Every state has guidelines that his sentence will fall into
Did he plead guilty? If he didn't plead guilty there would be no sentencing day. 16 plants indoor sounds like a medicinal amount to me. Would expect no more than 90 days , with no record , if he already pled.
Yes he pleded guilty already. I havent hear from him since he went in so i was just wondering what to expect. If its gonna look good for him or not. How he got caught im not sure and i dont really want to go into details but my guess is he probably told someone and that person told on him. Thats my guess. Just wanted to see if he's gonna be gone for a while or not. But thanks for everyone replies.
No sweat, 16 plants aint shit, probation an a fine. All they want is yer fuckin money anyway! that's why it isn't legal already!..... I'm sure that's what'll happen, but good luck to him none the less. Take care... BC
I thin he'll be ok. But the fact that he pleaded guilty and has to come back for sentenceing isn't too good. He should already know what he is faceing. His lawyer wasen't that great if he's walking into court at the judge's mercy.. He should defenetly know what kind of time he may be facing. As I am not familiar with California law I cannot pass judgement on his sentence. I hope he only does the very minimum. Take it easy.
