what to do with this hermie

Hey guys,

i was sloppy with light leaking, and my ok kush just showed signs of hermie on day 20. There are 4 other plants in the garden.... i removed all of the bananas from the OG Kush, so now im wondering if i really seal up the room and make sure that there are no more light leaks, will the OG kush grow back the hermie bananas and pollinate the other plants?
also, can a hermie plant completely destroy every plant in your garden?

ill post pics if someone needs...

thanks,

A hermie plant can pollinate all the other plants and that can destroy them if ya want sensimilla. Other then seeding up your plants they can do no harm. You should either kill it use for hash purposes or just keep a real good eye on it everyday for bananas. You need to make sure there are no more light leaks or all of them are gonna go both ways bro! So seal up the room for the dark period.

ok so does this mean that i can keep removing bananas from it if they come back in the next couple of days? its a smaller plant so its not that hard to keep an eye on... ill seal everythign up tonight but if it makes more bananas can i just remove them?

it depends on a few things.. but since it's early in flower, i would try to keep and eye on it for a bit, but if it jus keeps putting out male flowers i would kill it..

are these S1s? if so there's a chance that u have a full blown and unmanagable hermi, and i would recomend culling it.. give it a few days and if it stops putting out male flowers then reconsider.. but to me, it sounds like something u should cull.

good luck

I'm dealing with a hermie that's been putting out bananas since day 25 or so and everytime I water (every other day) I go over every single bud really carefully and pick out all the bananas. It's a pain but so far I've seen no opened flowers (at day 38). I posted a similar question and someone with more experience with hermies told me that his hermies would only pollinate themselves if the bud was already sticky but I wouldn't apply this to any other garden because everyone's airflow is different. If you do decide to let her/him finish I would position it in your room that at the farthest possible spot from any fans just in case.
