what to do with these?

Here's what may be going on. Sometimes it is harder to take a reading of your run-off depending on how much solution you poured into your container right before the test. I think that you took the first 100-200 mL and then got your test. Here is the problem that I've seen with that with my plants recently. When I took the first run off test at 100 mL, it was 5.8. As I kept pouring 6.8 solution in, I kept taking tests while continuing to dispose of the older run-off every time as to not contaminate my results. As I kept pouring solution in, the run off kept going lower. This meant that my run off was really a lot lower than I first thought and that it took more solution for me to figure that out. In the end, I had to dump 20 Gallons of solution into a 5 Gallon container and it I couldn't get it all the way up to 6.4 but I got to around 6.0. The next time that the plant needed to be watered, I performed the same treatment again and it was easier to get back up to where I wanted. Those are my experiences with Fox Farm Ocean Forest. I don't use your soil but maybe it isn't dirt based. Maybe it has coco in it or something else. Anyway if I'm only "Charging" a few plants, I use a big lobster pot and make sure the pot never sit in solution:

Ok now my plant actually look like they are dying. I'm almost in panic mode. They may have had some issue but they looked a lot healthier a few days ago. As of now I'm not touching them. I watered the shit out of them two days ago when I did this charge process so I'm thinking they may just be over watered. What should I do now? How long should I wait to water and when I do should I use plain water or nutes again.???

Plants always look healthier at the beginning of their problems and go down hill from there. Because you are in soil, it takes time to have an effect. I believe they are going down hill from the pH problem. They would have done that anyway in my opinion but it would be even more extreme.

I have so many questions but you seem to not like to answer any but I will tell you some variables. I purposely add at least 25% perlite to my medium at the beginning because I know how packed my soil will get from these "charge" techniques. That is most likely the problem that you are dealing with now. Your medium is most likely water logged from not enough air inside the medium because I take it you may have not used prelite or not enough perlite. Place a fan around that area and leave it on to dry out your medium faster.

As of what to do next when it drys out. Personally, I would be continuting to do my Charge technique until the run off is where it is supposed to be. Here's another problem. I have too many questions and can't get any answers from you. I don't know if your medium is real dirt or something else. Without knowing all your variables makes it much harder to fix your problems. You're pH had to be fixed to begin with and you were having problems to start but I don't think you realized it. We really don't know what your true medium pH was but I think your plants will be looking better in few days. They probably don't have enough air inside the soil depending if you added enough perlite.

Maybe you are having another root issue but the more information that I know, the better that I can help. I'm really sorry about your problems but I do these treatments every week on my plants and my plants look perfect every time. Repotting your plants was not a good idea cause now you are drowning your plants further and taking all of the soil nutes out of your pots in the process. You should have fixed the medium in the smaller pot first, and then repot it and just add water. Just let me know anything that you can so we can fix your problems. Pictures would help too.

Snype You are correct my ph is 5.6 I did the flush as you said and the runoff is still 5.6 ph how do I raise it"

Thanks for thg help

From this sentence, I took it that your run off did not rise with my technique which would make no sense because I do this "charge" all of the time. In your PM you stated that your pH was actually 5.2 and my "charge" raised it to 5.8 - 6.0. It is important to put all the real details out there so everyone knows the real deal. So your problems are actually being fixed. It will take a few days for you to see everything get healthy. Things take time to show in soil. If you needed to do another charge in the future, you only need to put enough solution in to fix the medium. Your pH meter will show you when it is fixed. 6.4 is where your medium should be. All your nutes and "charge" should always be done at 6.8 pH.

Also none of your pictures are showing up.

Just want to let everyone know that Ragphoto sent me a PM today and said that his plants are looking much better now. Hopefully he comes back here to tell us all how the "charge" worked for him so you can all see that this technique works incredible for fixing the pH of soil mediums if you are growing with salt based nutrients.

I will I promise... Ill write up a little description of what happened along with a pic in a day or two when they are really zooming upward. They look great this morning too. Im going to let them suck a little more water then redo... Not sure Im going to redo the entire "charge" but Im going to give them a perfect 6.8 ph feeding. I also FIM'ed everything this forming. My plants respond very well to Fiming. The stems where I crunched them are already hardening up...

PS I drove myself nuts when my plants didnt respond instantly and bounce right to the proper levels... The key to this for new growers (like myself) is patience!!! Plants DO NOT fix themselves overnight.

Thanks again for your help Snype...

I'm glad it's working out Rag! Like I said before, I swear by this "Charge" Technique that took me years to figure out. I tried everything and was amazed how this "Charge" fixed my medium so fast. I've brought plants back from having no green left in the plant at all to bright green again with multiple charges. I only use Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil but I'm glad that I was able to see you experience with another type of soil because it shows me that it works and I can help out more growers with my techniques!

As for being patient, you are so right! Hydro responds faster than soil but growing requires lots of patients, esp when you are having problems. Thanks for the opportunity to help get you on the right track and helping me gain more knowledge to help me fine tune my work! Happy Growing!

We'll all I can say is incredible. I did the 4 gallon charge early this morning and my ph levels are creeping up to the 6.1 mark. Tonight the plants look like they exploded. Losing the yellow and it looks like they shot up 1/4 inch just today. I can't wait to see what they do when I get the ph sitting at 6.5. Thnx again

Good to hear! I don't think you will get it to 6.5 but 6.3 would be good. Now that you are at 6.1, you are going to see the plants get real nice! Thanks for listening to my technique and having the courage to try it out all the way! This is how I keep all my soil plants looking so perfect all the time!

I didn't even know Apple made TV's. I'm still stuck in the 1800's with no TV. Watching Alice in Wonderland on my Apple Laptop!

Snype I'm going to water again tomorrow or Thursday depending and I'm wondering should I do another 4 gallon charge with nutes? Just water or a combo?

This is one of the best advices that I can give you. As long as your pH is in line and your plants are a good green, you only need water at 6.8 pH. You do not need to give any nutes at all until you see leaves getting less green. At that point you may need a charge but you won't every need more than 4 Gallons again. No one can tell you when or how much you will need. The pH of the run off is all that you need to pay attention to. Good luck with the rest of the grow.

If you plants are bright green and you think that nutes are going to make you bigger buds if you continue to nute, you are wrong. Less will always be more. The last 2 weeks your plants leaves should turn on the yellow or purple side and get less green. That is what you want to happen. If the leaves stay bright green close to the finish, flush your plants with maybe 8 Gallons of 6.8 Water to get the nutrients out of your containers. You will get a much better tasty product by flushing your plants before you chop them.
