What should I grow? (NON MJ) in my window?

Hello,
so, heres the deal. I am keeping things super secret, and came accross the idea that its weird for somebody without plants in his room to have ph, ferts, and soil supplies without plants....(*wink*)

so, i want to start growing some plants that will run off the sunlight in my window.

What should I grow. I want something that is really cool to look at (i'm a guy), or really fast growing, or something that will yield something I can eat or smoke.

What about salvia? Anybody grow this? Where can I get seeds?

other than salvia, what are some other good things to grow?

Stevia (natural sweetner, leaves off the plant are 10x sweeter than refined sugar)

And a "Black Eye Pea" bush. There's an old southern heirloom variety that only gets about a foot wide and tall in ground. Probably keep a smaller version in a smaller pot.

Or maybe some cactus?

i liked it so much, that within 10 minutes of your post, i have ordered stevia seeds.

THIS LOOKS AWESOME. sugar plant...i love the natural stuff. This will help me get my sweet tooth on and sweeten things then without all that other shit.

Just so you know for the future... salvia must be grown from clones, you can't grow them from seed. You can usually find some live ones on ebay since it's still legal.

However it needs lots of light just like weed so growing in a window isn't exactly ideal.

You can grow it from seeds, I've heard most places carry seeds with about 30% germ rate. But there is one place that claims 70-80% after some selective breeding, I'll try to find which it was. I'm also gonna grow some stevia outside from seeds

i've allready got a 20 pack off ebay... cant wait for it to arrive. also baught a ALOE plant today..(i cut myself a lot and shit)..and some MINT to chew on.

a small herb kit would do the trick. Basil, Tarragon, Oregano ect. You could say you eat it. Nothing out of the ordinary.

well i bought mint today that i can chew on, aloe because i cut myself a lot, and the STEVIA, cause i think its the shit....fucking sugar plant...ROFLMAO

You could always grow sideburns, that's really cool to look at.

Aromatic herbs maybe?

Basil, coriander, thyme, oregano, mint... Easy to grow, nice to look at, sweet smell, fun to cook with.

I use stevia extract in my tea, love it. Gives coffee a funny taste, tho. The sugar lobby in the US bullied the FDA into basically not allowing anyone to call stevia a "sweetener". It had to be sold as an "herbal nutritional supplement". Lovely frickin' country!

I just ordered a few salvia cuttings, see how they do. I'm a fan of jade plants, ivy of any sort (except poison), and cacti. I always want ferns, but don't have the humidity inside for them.

i should get mine any day.. i ordered last friday.. Thanks for this thread for reminding me... i also ordered some stevia, st johns wort, squash and some peppers.. the site above has some interesting strains i wouldnt be able to find locally. On another note, i read once planting basil in a garden with tomatoes changes the taste of the tomatoes... so???? i guess they would have to be in the same pots if indoor.
